That's good to know. I feel like an ASU/ASU brain trust to grow both divisions is a must for the Belt.

The closest bowl game to San Marcos is 8 hours away. App St has two bowls that are closer to Boone than that.

I would rather see the Arizona Bowl be replaced with tie ins to existing bowls in DFW or a new one in Houston.

Probably should focus on bowl locations near programs that average 6 wins annually.

Funny seeing good thing about App's president because she's not that popular in alum circles. Some of the reasons are legit, some are nonsense. She's done better in the last school calendar year after a rough 2016-17.

Did it two years in a row and didn't bowl because teams with less wins but closer to the bowls got to go instead. Location matters.

Which doesn’t make sense to me. Seems like if bowls are for boosting a towns economy and filling hotels, they would want a fan base that’s further than a short drive away.

Diffferent age, we now have five tie ins for ten teams. Win six and you’re bowling.

There is a sweet spot where one needs a hotel but close enough to get in/out with one night which is good for many. And even if one doesn't spend a night in a hotel one will still take in a meal or two. I would imagine close always wins out over distance in the financial analysis unless you are so close as to eat at home.

Driving two counties over or maybe even visiting the neighboring county is enough to keep me away from home where I am getting a meal or snacks or something when a 1/2 day of activities are involved.

Though filling hotels and their occupancy tax is good for the local government I am sure.

If flying is the only option how many locations really have a hub system and number of flights and variety of airlines where the cost is reasonable and convenient. Some of our bowl locations qualify for this and some do not. Proposed future locations are the same mixed bag.

I think it would make sense (pardon if this has already been suggested) if the Arizona was dropped in favor of either Frisco or Heart of Dallas, and the Cure was replaced with an Atlanta bowl game.

New Orleans, Mobile, and Montgomery make perfect sense for our geography.

Bahamas, Boca Raton, Hawaii, and Arizona make zero sense for our league.

I would be okay with replacing the Camellia bowl and keeping the Cure bowl for Florida recruiting purposes, but other than that I agree

With Campus Insiders (aka Stadium TV) being part owner in The Arizona Bowl I have a feeling the bowl reshuffle will have CUSA picking up our tie-in with that bowl. If we could get one in ATL or Charlotte it would be from ESPN moving one like the HOD bowl or as you said perhaps the Camellia bowl, but I have a feeling ESPN is satisfied with that bowl game. I'd want to keep a Cure bowl tie-in as well.

Camellia is apparently doing just fine so I doubt anything changes other maybe someone other than the MAC being tied there.

Arizona, I'd love to make the trip, Tucson the week between Christmas and New Year's sounds like a great trip but it also is a game few others would make.

I would expect Tucson is going to push hard for CUSA in the hope of UTEP.

With Dallas turning down the money for HOD I would expect HOD will relocate.

The Arizona would do well with a MWC vs CUSA West. Getting a deal with NMSU directly would be huge for the Aggies too. I'd like too see that happen for them.

HoD moving to ATL or CLT for the second Saturday of Bowl Season would do great with a SBC vs CUSA East.

All the stories about those famous expansion meetings make want is for the Sun Belt to keep a written transcript of those meetings and publish them online.

It would be great reading for the rest of the World. It's sort of like that one time when Texas State went rogue and voted for an issue in autonomy that wasn't universally supported within the Sun Belt. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall in the meetings after that.

The fact that Teis voted against satellite camps without asking anyone else and hasn't suffered any repercussions is amazing.
