Let’s cut back this “He can play with the best in the nation!” talk. None of those teams even made the tournament.

But yeah, let’s hype up these trash bags teams up because German did well against them.

Really! So now Iowa, Iowa St and Marquette are trash bag teams or programs because they didn’t make the tournament? NBA level players come from many different programs and countries.

There hasn’t been one poster here who’s said German is a NBA caliber player. Almost everyone has noted that it will be a good experience for him and should help him going forward as a Huskie! NIU hasn’t made the tourney in forever but I just saw two ex Huskies( Nader, Silas) in the NBA!

Not making the tournament is only one factor in them being trash bags. Their conference performance also play a big hand.

Marquette (7th out of 10 in the Big East)
Iowa (12th out of 14 in the Big Ten)
Iowa St (10th out of 10 (LAST) in the Big 12)

You like NIU, we get it, but it’s extremely dumb to say he can “play with the best in the nation!” when he played against those trash bag teams.

The general positivity that surrounds this terrible basketball program for anything that happens perplexes me.
It is like taking the practice ACT.
He gets to experience everything that surrounds the process. He gets to learn what it takes to get better. Maybe he learns that making his teammates better is important or any other perceived items he needs to work on.

I think this can be valuable for him personally and potentially benefit his team. But like JJ in football and Nadar before him there is a potential that he leaves.

My perception of Nader when he was at NIU was that he wanted out and possibly tanked it his second year for he get into a Power 5 team...But that's just me with no hard evidence..
He would have gotten into the NBA from NIU if he played like he did at Iowa State
His play at NIU was not, overall, very good

So many young players have declared for the draft this year..... I don’t blame him for testing the waters.
