I liked all of them, Bobby was smooth as silk with the Ball. Good Times 04-cheers

Bobby Parks was the Antonio Anderson of that era.

Yep. Parks a fav. I do remember Askew being pretty darned smooth with the ball, too. And who was the transfer from St. Louis who came off the bench to shoot lights out during Parks' time on the team?

I live in MIDDLETON now ---I have lived here most my life. I dropped my GRANDDAUGHTER off at the gym this very day for softball practice. Beautiful BOBBY is the most underrated MEMPHIS TIGER of all time.

For those that know the history of the MIDDLETON TIGERS----BOBBY had a cousin (JESSE) that played 3-4 years earlier that was 6' 3" that could knock a bottle off the top of the backboard . Played for Sails at Shelby State. Nobody in the history of the world could out jump him.

I remember Coach Sails saying that Michael Wilson "jumps about like Little Jesse."
Wilson had a 51 inch vertical. Pretty good company.

Doom would make one of those great bank shots, then look at the defender with a puzzled look and it was like 'did you really think you could stop me'? The crowd would go wild. Bobby Parks played hard all the time and was one of the all time great Tiger defenders in my opinion. Baskerville was really fun to watch. They didn't call him BatMan for nothing. I managed to record some of the games. I think I may have a few. Some of my tapes were destroyed in the 1999 tornado that hit us in Jackson,Tn.

They would have made a deep run for sure. I remember hearing the news of the guys signing with the agent. Devastating. Ole Larry just picked up the pieces and went on and they had a pretty good year still. I have the conference tournament game with Louisville before the incident on video and watch it occasionally. Marvin and Sylvester were studs. Marvin killed Louisville at the free throw line. As you may know, the Tigers were on probation because of the Dana Kirk deal and couldn't go to the dance. Marvin and Sylvester were sold a bill of goods and messed up their NBA chances.

#45 Willie Becton - played same years as Keith

Doom and Bobby’s senior season was 83-84, same as Derick Phillips

Batman’s senior season was 85-86, same as Andre’s

I would have to go with Doom because of his toughness. I will get the story wrong, but basically Georgetown was carrying on around the locker rooms of the 82-83 NCAA tournament and Doom went out by himself and explained that they didn’t scare him because he was from **^^**%* Northside.

If we don’t go, nobody goes! Tigers! Tigers!

75-52 - largest margin of victory in the series

I always was a huge Bobby Parks fan. His knee injury at the end of the '83 - '84 season really hurt the Tigers chances of advancing deeper in the NCAA tournament (if memory serves me correctly).

I think we had a chance to win it all. That is why in another thread I listed Dean Schaffer as the most hated Tiger opponent .

Didn't Derrick Phillips get hurt late in the '83-'84 season as well?

Derrick had chronic foot problems through his senior season, he did not practice much, but defended the better post player so Keith could rest and stay out of foul trouble. Derrick’s blanketing of Waymon Tisdale was a sight to see.

James Bradley was my first fav. Alvin wright and John Gunn where fun to watch also.

Bobby is the heart of the teams he was on. Doom was such a rarity. When OJ graduated I asked my dad how could we win any games with him?

After watching the Wayne Yate years, I like others at that time figured Kirk was a basketball Genius. When he called a time out to draw a play, we seemed to score everytime (after a timeout).

The round house could rock. Fun thread....
