Inverted reasoning
from ESPN

Stephen A. Smith is "not interested in Cinderellas" playing in the national championship because he wants to see the two best teams, and that doesn't include Loyola-Chicago.

If you want to see the two best teams, then don't have a tournament, because a tournament by definition is not the best teams, but the hottest teams - the teams that are best at this particular moment. If you don't want to have Cinderellas, then don't have a tournament. Real simple. In a tournament you are only "the best team" if you win.

Incredible big school arrogance!

RE: Inverted reasoning
Well if the 3, 6, 7, and 9 seeds of the region had beaten Loyola, they wouldn't be in the Final Four.

They landed in a region where the 1, 4, and 8 seeds were upset in the first round. The 2 went out in the second round and the 5 went out in the third round.

Folks like Smith are fine with Loyal, UMBC, Buffalo etc being in as long as they know their place and lose.
