Just believe he had plenty of time to read the original document as well as any changes.
If there were questions about the additions, yesterday would have been a great time to bring them up.
& from there, if not truly sure how to vote, abstain.
Changes were made in the late afternoon before a 9:30 am meeting. I had called his office earlier that day, and he called me back about 6:30 pm... and he still had 24 more calls to make, he said.
Frankly, I think Attalla is right. He can count votes. The stadium vote was going to pass. He let it, and voted against it. Several of the most vocal neighborhoods against it are in his district. The stadium went through, and he voted the way his constituents wanted. Add in that he had Jonathan Austin trolling hell out of him about that vote. His vote against totally defanged that *******. *edit* Starts with J and ends with S and is a donkey, like Austin.

Maybe he should have been reading, instead of making phone calls. Get the work done first, sooth feelings later...

Why is that ?
Because he basically went up there in UAB gear and said that the UAB Athletic Foundation is a BOT plant and a couple of people that just want their names recognized, that the new stadium is a horrible idea, and that we should remodel Legion Field so that area could become an "absolute Utopia". LOL
And kept talking about the "plaque" people (people who's names will be on a plaque somewhere on the building). If it wasn't for him providing context clues, no one in that room would have thought he was saying "plaque" people.
Are the "plaque people" related to the Cavity Creeps???
We make holes in teeth! We make holes in teeth!
In all seriousness, I've never cared for TC Cannon, going back over 15 years. For some unknown reason, some people around here revere him. Or at least used to.

T.C. has always been an avid UAB booster and (I believe) sees everything through green and gold lenses. His desire to have a UAB OCS may color his view of the BJCC stadium. (BTW, He told me that he and his wife hold two LF Stadium Certificates.) At one time, he operated "TC's", a popular "watering hole" on 7th Ave South in the Lakeview area.

I had never really heard of or met him before he spoke at the Council meeting the other day. I can't say it was a great first impression.
T.C. is a really good guy. He has lived in Birmingham for so long, his views don't always mess with other people............still getting a laugh about his Graymont "Utopia" comment.
At an earlier time in my life I was around TC a pretty good bit. An eccentric to be sure, he was also part of a Bama hating and baiting UAB hardcore (for example Steve from Forest Park). He was always a decent guy. I understand him being hardline for the OCS but the Football Foundation attack is puzzling.

I had always heard of TC Cannon and knew him to be a big eccentric UAB fan. At my Dad's funeral a couple of years back, a man in a UAB jacket came up to me and introduced himself as Terry Cannon. Told me he used to race in the 60s at Midfield, Sayre and BIR with my dad, I had heard my Dad talk about Terry Cannon for yrs and it wasn't until I saw the UAB jacket did I make the connection that TC and Terry was the same person. He was very gracious, told me some great stories about my dad that I had not heard. He eased my soul that day. Since then, I don't care what any of you think of him or what unpopular stance he takes, he will always be a connection to my Dad.
I have known T. C. Cannon since 1978. He attended every UAB Basketball game at the Civic Center for the first ten years of UAB Basketball. So did I. T. C. is a great guy. I stopped by to see him about two months ago. He is doing great. He loves to talk UAB sports, Football, Basketball, you name it. Sure he is a bit eccentric. He still has VW bugs he has had for years. I saw them, too. What a guy! Very easy going.
