You mean they are so dumb that they rejected being in a BCS conference in 2010 (Meatball tried hard to get them in) but they now want to join a non cartel conference 8 years later? That would be dumber than Loyd Christmas telling the Sweedish bikini models that the town where they could find some guys to lather lotion on them was the other way.

So BYU is scrapping the Mormon Channel to be part of the AAC television package.

That ain't happening.

BYU belongs in a league with UNLV, Bose State, Colorado State, Air Force etc. but their to good to do that so let them stay independent and uppity !!! Wichita is far enough for me. We should work on Pitt, WVa, 'Cuse and BC before any one West of the Rockies.

Villanova is not coming back. They led the Old BE exodus of the C7 schools with G'Town. Before they left they made a half a$$ proposal for FB admission to the OBE which was shot down. Currently they make more TV money in the NBE for BB only than the AAC members for all sports. No way they are coming back.

BYU is not joining either.

The Big East had to get $4 million each because they had to pay out a ton to the AAC plus games ended up on a startup channel. Not exactly apples to apples, but either way Nova is a better fit for the Big East. They don't want to take FB seriously. We need to separate from the G4 so adding Nova would actually hurt us on the football side.

Here's a better idea. The Big East adds football! South Florida, Central Florida, Navy (football only), Houston and Memphis leave the AAC to join. Villanova raises its football to FBS. Xavier revives its football team at the FBS level. Georgia State is added for football only (but will later get kicked out and replaced with UConn for all sports). All take their rightful place as a P-5 1/2 conference.

What could possibly go wrong?
