Photo from songfest. Still no word on actual injury yet, right? By the look of the brace. ACL? Sprained MCL? Man, we were on the brink of something special and we lose the one guy who could have maybe gotten us there. We will miss you Tre.

My wife walked around for a year and a half with a missing ACL. She'd workout and it would bother her from time to time, but nothing big. When she finally went to see a doctor, they both thought she might have a roughed up meniscus. Lo and behold, no ACL. So while Fletcher could walk, if it was an ACL, not having one, could not withstand the riggors of D1 basketball. Hope we give him the rehab support so he can continue playing.

I think the NCAA should grant him another year for that. Just my opinion...

RE: Fletcher
What Toledo needs is more "top 100" players transferring in. Taylor and Fletcher have hopefully started a trend.

I'd rather we recruit at the top 100 level and prefer we don't hope and pray we get a transfer for one year.

If I could convince myself we were offering them educational opportunity, I suppose I'd be fine with it. Grad transfers, I get. Transfers to play sports, not so much.
But I guess they have also become more marketable to an overseas professional league. Ultimately, if they leave with a diploma from and a loyalty to this university then I would have to say it worked out as it should.

The distinction here is that Taylor and Fletcher were 2 year transfers (and Weatherspoon and Drummond 3 yrs). All graduated from UT. Plus, they used the RS year to improve and also enhance the competition level of practices. Taylor's RS year was instrumental to Boothe's growth, for example. There is a big difference between a one and done player and an older talented guy who comes in for 2 or 3 years w focus and motivation.
