I hear where you're coming from. Evansville is also a small Christian, Private school. They make sense together, and Evansville's not far from Bowling Green at all. Adding those 2 together I think makes sense, but neither as stand-alones.

PLUS, isn't Belmont in the OVC with all those larger public universities already? Them leaving for C-USA is an immense move up. And they're in Nashville, which is perfect come conference tourney time.

If JMU wouldn't do oly only then yeah not sure about a fourth. Schools that I'd also be cool with: American, College of Charleston, Wright State, Valpo, Ind St, Evansville.

Get real guys, no school is leaving the A10 to join this mess and anyone else would do exactly nothing for CUSA. There are no Gonzaga's in the east. There are no programs worth splitting any revenue with. We had 4 teams with 25 or more wins and it didn't matter. What happens when the A10 gets 25 win teams......they go dancing more often than not...

I was just throwing out what I think are the best basketball only schools to add in the East. I don't care if we add anyone or not. I actually think both divisions would be better off by splitting up but thats just me.

You guys aren't expanding anytime soon. Honestly CUSA has to many schools.

I’m with you, time to cut down travel and stay more regional like it used to be in the past. TV is what drove teams to partner up and that money has gone dry. Make a 10-12 team conference that is was more regional.

Within the rules, fine, but they'd be a bigger geographic outlier in that proposed conference than UTEP is in our current one and they aren't even that good.

If you're desperate to add one quality basketball program in Murray, I think you're better off adding a pair from within footprint rather than going 500 miles from Norfolk, 700 miles from Huntington and 1,000 miles from Bowling Green/Murfreesboro for very average football in UCONN to offset Murray.

Drop UCONN FB and add FGCU OLY or drop Murray and UCONN FB and add South Alabama.

Actually you can. As long as there are at least 8 other members that DO play football and basketball in the same FBS league. That said, while its ok with the NCAA--some FBS conferences have rules that dont allow it.

That's a 9 team conference that has decent football and decent basketball. It has 4 programs that had 25+ wins this year and that's without LA Tech or UAB being on the uptick. If you want 3 more programs to go to 12 then it starts with Appy/Go Southern and then throw a dart at the dart board.

UConn is no way regional for Marshall.

Huntington WV to Storrs CT is 722 miles and 11 hours by car.
