I did one time and felt that I was always missing something, maybe the sounds from being in the stands, the atmosphere, the popping of the pads. I used them for about half of the first qtr. took them off and have never used them again.

I think everyone will miss him once they hear Ellis do the play by play. I admit I dont like the guy. I have met him several time. The one that stands out imparticular is Sterlings football camp. He had just been drafted by the Broncos. He showed up late and acted like everyone should bow down to him. I guess he thought he was going to be the next Joe Montana. But it irritated me watching him walk up in his shades and act like he was the best player out there. A few notibles from the group; Micheal Dean Perry, Sterling Sharpe, and Deon Sanders.

You're going to have to explain to me why that is ridiculous.

Admitting you're wrong after the fact in no way, shape, or form proves your mind was open before the fact. It only means you have been proven wrong & are man enough to admit it. Nothing more.

This is the classic "chicken or egg" conundrum. Time to let it go.

No conundrum King. Just explain to me how the quoted post represents a man with an open mind? Can you?

Yes, I can. It is based upon an expectation that might or might not turn out to be valid. The expectation is that Todd will be a disappointment as a play-by-play man at this level. If that turns out to be the case, I'll miss the hell out of McAlexander.
The odds are that I will be missing the hell out of McAlexander. But, if Todd's performance exceeds my expectations, I might not be.
But it will be the quality of Todd's performance, and not any close-mindedness on my part, that will finally determine how I come down on this matter.

Prior to Charlie Mac, I ALWAYS carried a radio with me.
I really tried to like Charlie, and maybe it's a little unfair to him that he had to follow Bob Fulton, but I couldn't stand it more than a couple of games before I gave up. Haven't bothered carrying a radio with me since. Charlie just never seemed to be a Gamecock . . . I felt like I was listening to an uniterested third party calling the game. I want my play by play man to be a homer!
Whatever else you may think of Todd, at least he's a homer! Maybe I'll start carrying a radio again this fall . . .
