Cal really coached em up last night. "10 Loss Cal" lol

He's won the same number of titles as Tubby did there. He's been there 9 years, Tubby was there 10. He ain't winning next year either.

2018 vs Kansas St.

"I should have called that timeout late with 19 seconds to go," he told reporters. "But we had worked on something and I thought we could catch them off-guard. (Kansas State's) a veteran team. I should have called a timeout. I can't put that on these guys. That's right on my shoulders."

2017 vs North Carolina

“And the second thing is I’ve got to look at myself. When that three went in and it tied the game, I probably should have called a timeout. It entered my mind, but they got that son-of-a-b in so quick, I couldn’t get to anybody to do it. But I needed to stop that right there.”

2008 vs Kansas

SAN ANTONIO – He kept the timeout in his pocket. For the rest of his career, he'll have to answer for that. For the rest of his life, he'll have to ponder it. All year long, a source close to the Memphis program said last night, John Calipari has practiced exactly what to do in those situation - up three, time running out. All season long, the Tigers practiced fouling in those situations. Maybe Calipari figured they would remember. He must have. He didn't call a timeout to remind them. They didn't foul. Mario Chalmers hit a game-tying 3. Overtime was a formality; Kansas won the game, 75-68.

RE: Kentucky BOOM OUTTA HERE
I will say this much. Cal’s teams play tough, hard-nosed defense. I do miss that.

Kudos to K State! They gave maximum effort last night. It took a small miracle for them to win. Even though all of the fouls called against them seemed over the top, you could tell they were totally outmatched. If UK could hit a shot or at a minimum not brick so many FTs it wouldn’t have been a game. Seems all too familiar.

Say what you want, but Kentucky was missing just one more highschool all-star piece for a national championship.

I was pulling for the other guys, though.

B*tch put out two elite eights, three Final Fours and a title.

UK fans care about titles not the other stuff. What’s that 8-9 years and only 1 title? And he’s making 8 million a year? That’s not good enough for loony wildcats fans

They have won 8 titles in about 80 years of the NCAA tournament. 3 of those were in a 4 year period between 1948-1951. Two happened in a three year period 1996-1998. So that means it’s rare that they win multiple titles in a short period of time.

They’ve had two runs of four Final Fours within six seasons; 1993-1998 and 2011-2015.

So if all they care about are titles, they don’t get to care all that often.

That was back when they paid players but apparently not enough as Kentucky got caught up in that point shaving scandal.

Kentucky played no schedule for the 1952-53 season as part of the fall-out from a scandal which rocked the nation in 1951. Revelations of point shaving and dumping games came to light when Junius Kellogg, a star of the Manhattan Jaspers basketball squad, was approached by a former player and offered $1000 to dump an upcoming game. Kellogg reported the incident to authorities and the New York District Attorney's office was called in to investigate and make the arrest. The investigation that followed, under the direction of Manhattan District Attorney Frank Hogan, led to the unearthing of such widespread gambling and corruption within college basketball that it implicated thirty-three players in eighty-six games, with the knowledge that many more got away.
