Mark Schmidt has elected to stay at St. Bonaventure and is no longer a candidate at Pittsburgh, sources told ESPN. This make your day, @wojespn?

Everyone except Pitt fans realize how much of a dumpster fire that job is.

ACC! ACC! ACC!

Yiiiiiiiikes.

@GoodmanESPN
Pittsburgh expected to hire Duke assistant Jeff Capel, source told ESPN.

@EvanDaniels
Jeff Capel’s deal with Pittsburgh is for seven years, per sources.

Seems like an odd jump for Capel ... jumping in conference away from Duke who he was probably Coach in Waiting ...

My thoughts too. Confirms that K has no plans to retire anytime soon.

I get that they probably had to give him 7 years to even get him, but 7 years for Jeff Capel is a disaster waiting to happen imo.

Wasn't he involved in some big scandal at Oklahoma?

I'm just going by memory, but didn't Capel already coach somewhere and SUCK?

Good. That's what armPitt gets for killing the real Big East.

I had to google it too. Outside of one good year at VCU, and having freaking Blake Griffin, its not great.

You guys...realize this usually means the school (Pitt) has another candidate?

BTW, Pitt's BB arena is nothing to laugh at...on campus and intimidating as hell if they can actually field another NCAA Tourney type team.

Putting lipstick on your ACC pig, I see...

Pitt had a lot of "candidates" since firing Stallings. Glad Plan "H" worked out for them though.

Oh stop.

Taking up for your fellow big east killer is not going to wash the blood from your hands.

Pitt's arena is only intimidating to Disney on Ice.

You don't think that Pitt is looking rather stunning after a trip to the salon?:

The pig found a man. (not too bad a hire after what previously transpired in their search)
