Who said that?

Gobaseline said, "Like WMU there was never a chance", which I believe is what Johnny is referring to. Gobaseline was making an analogy that he has about the same chance of winning lottery as WMU had of winning the Cotton Bowl. Thus the responses referencing the reality that WMU did have a quite decent chance of winning, and was in the game right up to the end (even if it is also true that Wisconsin was clearly the better team that day).

And I stand by that. I watched the game. I rooted for WMU. Sure, I hoped but the reality was WMU was overmatched. Take away the NFL talent of Corey Davis and that 2nd score everyone seems to hang their hat on doesn't happen. Yet I'm told to believe his absence had little bearing on the imbalance of last years offensive production and therefore putting the D on the field far longer and forced WMU to run more often than ideal. 03-lmfao

This is possibly the dumbest post of the year, surprisingly, from a poster who normally has some of the finest posts.

You can't "Take away the NFL talent of Corey Davis," any more than you can take away the career, break-out, day of Wisconsin's TE. How many clutch, and difficult, 3rd down catches did that kid make? It would be easy to make a similarly stupid argument that without him, Wisky loses. But he was there, and so was Davis. They were both intregal parts of their teams. As a result, Wisky narrowly won a hard faught game.

As far as how Davis' departure impacted the 2017 Broncos? WTF?! Nice attempt to change the subject... 03-wink

Cheers!

And Go Broncos!

Not taking away Corey's talent, simply pointing it to make 2 points.

At 3:28 left in the game WMU was down 2 TD's. Only Corey's ability turned a sure interception into a catch. A TD no less.

WMU was never seriously threatening to win at any time, here included.

And Corey Davis's talent made it what some delusionally feel was an upset in the making. 07-coffee3

Subtract that singular talent from last years team and you saw what ensued. It had nothing to do with philosophy, aggressiveness, or anything else. Davis's singular ability as recognized by being the 5th player, not the 5th WR taken in the entire draft speaks volumes.
There was no one on last years squad remotely in the hemisphere let alone zip code to offset his loss. He made the defense better. He made the OL better. He made the RB better. If not, if all was as good in Camelot as some say, why did PJ take his dream job in Minny? Why not shake off the pedestrian loss of CD and get a real dream job after using all that talent left here? It's pretty simple, really.

Take away Wisconsin TE and WMU probably wins. But you can't because he was part of their team, same as Corey Davis was part of WMU. This is a very silly way to look at things. Take away lebron and cleavland stinks. Take away Jordan and bulls have 0 titles....

The subtraction only applies to last years result. CD was a participant in the CB. A net positive. But same result. Have a cup of coffee and wake up.07-coffee3

I’ll try to get it back on track with this. Pretty harsh move by Lowell’s FB coach.

-Lowell High School coach Noel Dean wrote EMU coach Chris Creighton to tell him he wasn’t welcome on campus following the school’s cuts of wrestling, softball, men’s swimming and diving and women’s tennis.

The letter, printed in full by Michigan Grappler, doesn’t place the blame on Creighton for the cuts. Instead, it blamed EMU president James Smith for the decision.

So this idiot coach is going to ruin any oppty for his players to play football at EMU simply because he's butthurt over EMU cutting a few sports? Wow, he should be thinking of the well-being of his players and their futures. This is what i hate about recruiting, HS coaches have way to much influence.

As good as Lowell's football program has been they produce very few FBS players so this was more of a symbolic gesture that won't impact EMU Football.

Lowell's coach also has a Wrestling background. His son and nephews are-were collegiate wrestlers. That's where this came from.
