My guess: Parris starts at PG and Jackson moves to SG. McAdoo backs up.

And Ellison I actually see a possible four guard rotation that may allow more full court presses

Ellison might be a spot player. Doesn't shoot well enough for regular minutes.

I know defense, defense, defense... but he has to shoot better to get more minutes.

I hope McAdoo starts at SG. Parris didn’t have very good shooting numbers at Trinity Valley. Having two guys that struggle with outside shooting in the back court is a disaster waiting to happen. McAdoo showed to be a pretty solid shooter in limited minutes.

We are desperately thin at forward. Only Minnie (assuming he returns) and Groce at the moment. I think we need to add a JUCO wing, and I know we’ve offered a couple. Isaiah Green might be seeing lots of minutes at forward, with the way things are looking. I just hope we don't try to experiment with one of the centers (King, Jones, etc.) out there. It was a defensive disaster when Murphy did it with Thompson a couple years ago.

Not sure how I didn't notice, but the deadline for early entrants into the NBA Draft was a couple weeks ago. JT never declared, so he will be back next season, barring a late decision to transfer.

Elijah Minnie has until May 30th to pull his name out of the draft.

I was just thinking today that the deadline had to have passed.

That is incredible news. Thanks, Sam!!

Great News for EMU that is. I feel bad for Thompson, as he must have felt his stock declined over this last year. I am hoping he works on his outside shooting (at least mid range which he showed a little last year) and even his low post moves (he needs to be quicker AND yet more careful with the ball done there). Otherwise his defense, rebounding, and on the move offense are stellar.

At least he will now have a chance to break many of the EMU/MAC records.

RE: Unofficial 2018/9 MBB Off Season Thread
We will need the sophomores to step up. Ty Groce will likely see a ton of minutes in Tim Bond's vacated forward spot. They have very different styles of offensive play, but I think Groce can become a similar defensive player to Bond. He is a dynamic athlete with a knack for blocking shots. His confidence looked to be restored at the end of the season too, so I think he will make a leap in production next season.

Kevin McAdoo showed everyone what he can do at the end of the season, and he needs to stay aggressive on the offensive end. He can stretch the floor, and beat anyone off the dribble. I think he can become one of the better shooting guards in the MAC if he slows down and lets the game come to him. He forced things a bit too much, as many young players do. This isn't something that is cured quickly, so we could still see some growing pains in year 2, but the talent is there.

I think our top 6 or 7 guys, assuming Minnie comes back, will be playing a ton of minutes again. A starting lineup of Jackson-McAdoo-Groce-Minnie-Thompson will be one of the best in the conference, but we will need to get SOMETHING off the bench. Adding a JUCO wing will help, and hopefully guys like Malik Ellison and Bud Jones improve over the offseason. Ellison, especially, needs to play with the confidence and aggression he played with in HS. He was way too tentative last season.

Next season will be fun. Can't wait for November.

I agree McAdoo is the most likely of the frosh to be a solid MAC player.

I have no idea if Ellison and King will shoot well enough to get major MAC minutes.

I would think next spring we'll be asking if some of the then soph will be looking for greener grass elsewhere. Ellison didn't shoot well and I don't believe King scored a point during the 2017 - 18 season.

If King can come off the bench and play solid D in the middle of the zone and rebound that is all I can ask for out of him. He will get the occasional dunk and tip in. I think Bud and Ellison have a better chance of being an offensive threat.

I forgot about Damari Parris as well. He will likely get big minutes off the bench, if he isn't starting.

Agree. He could start at PG and PJ move to SG with McAdoo first guard off the bench.

Wondering out loud if there is eligibility problems with Abdul Mohamed who prep I believe in Canada. Hence recent offers to prep school wings.

We've lost the MAC Defensive Player of the year-Bond, Nobles and Harris.

Toure if healthy would allow either King or Bud Jones to redshirt. Parris offers us more than Harris could in terms of a scorer.

I would agree the young guys need to get better Groce, Ellison Macdoo King and Jones. Green will be a senior and needs to contribute. Hopefully Minnie and Thompson return with Jackson.

As it stands now it looks like four scholies for the 2019 class and I know they are scouting hopefully more offers on the way.

I don't see new offers. Those prep school offers have up for a long time, I think.

Mohamed is taking visits. Think he recently visited N. Texas.

I don't think so Steve, the ones to prepsters David Wingett and Jabril Price-Noel are very recent I believe. EMU seems to be following several teammates of Jabril Price-Noel.
