Anyone who comes to EMU has to be able to play the zone. In this clip, Syracuse is playing the zone, no surprise, but Duke too? :)

Yeah, I was going to ask if anyone was watching two legendary coaches using the supposedly outdated 2-3 zone in the Sweet 16 last night.

In all seriousness, it's a stroke of genius by Coach K to utilize his team's ridiculous length. Carter-Bagley-Trent is a pretty long and intimidating front court. I can't see anyone beating them.

Coach K has changed.

Is Luckeyone next to fall in line? (Just asking. 03-lmfao)

If so, will it be this decade? Next decade? Or not known when?

How about Kentucy, they have ridiculous length too?

Oh, too late, they're gone. Well, maybe next year, March Madness 2019. :)

BTW, Nobles is gone. I suspect we'll hear about Harris in time.

Harris to me was an enigma. Never thought he'd be a great player but thought he could be a MAC role player.
Big thing, and this is guessing, of course, is that the pressure to follow in his brothers' foot steps was a lot. I always thought he was as tight as a drum.

I think he can be a role player for say a low major team where the expectations are low. He could thrive without the pressure.

This stuff happens all the time in sports.

The wording on Nobles' release is kind of strange in that it references future financial aid (scholarship):

I think that is normal. They are agreeing to no longer have him on scholarship and thus no financial aid.

Okay. I've seen a few releases on the Internet and first written that way.

Any word as to where he might end up?

Still wanting to go D1, but D2 not out of the question. Oakland the Tenn. St. so far showing interest.

I wonder if he could come back because you don't give up D1 for D2 including Oakland.

Luckey, he isn’t coming back. He didn’t make this decision just to test the waters.

Terry Harris is transferring as a grad transfer per Jeff Goodman. That is 3 scholarships by my count (Bond, Nobles, Harris). Hopefully everyone else returns.

Best wished to him. Glad he got the degree. I still find it interesting that a kid can transfer and get the degree in 2 years. In my experience, transferring means lost credits, credits not accepted by your program at the new school, etc.

Hope Harris finds the right school for him. His stock isn't high right now.

So we officially have ONE more scholarship to give. If Corey Allen or anyone else wants to transfer, we now officially have a scholarship to give.

We'll need to see what happens in the next week or two. Anyone who didn't get PT, etc.

This is a win-win outcome for Harris and ENU!

I can see if happening in 4 years for a transfer. I can not see an athlete doing 4 years of academics in 3 though.

Remember, that athletes do summer school for a few years, as many as four. They can pick up as many as 8 classes during that those sessions.

Got to remember with frosh (or soph) some will leave as they aren't getting the minutes they want or don't think they can really make it at this level.

Few recruits come to MAC schools to sit on the bench.

With the number of frosh we have I'd say that the odds are that one or two leave.

Each player needs to look at his abilities and the players ahead of him, what year in school they are, etc. I'd guess some will make it and have good careers (I think McAdoo has a good ceiling). Others might not.

One other thought: teams are much more patient with big men who tend to develop much slower than say wing players.
