I'll go worst case scenario and assume Jeremy Sheppard and Kentrell Barkley don't come back. If those two do comeback, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us make a leap in this league.
C-Jayden Gardner
F-Seth Leday VT transfer
F-Michael Wynn
G-Shawn Williams
PG-Isaac Fleming
Bench
G/F KJ Davis
F-Spasojevic
F-Justin Watley
C-Rico Quinton
G-Deshaun Wade
C-Haruna (should probably transfer)
Make a leap up to 9th or 10th in the league? That’s probably your ceiling.
I haven't looked at all the rosters in this league, but I know we will be a much better team this year assuming the scenario I posted above. I'll say make a leap in RPI, to the top 150. I didn't see a middle of the pack team in this league we couldn't compete with a slight uptick in talent.
So unless a lot of these teams are getting drastically better I see no reason we can't compete.

Eh... UC isn't missing the tournament next year. Defense will be too good for that.

So, do you think you’re competing with UH, UCF, Cincy, SMU, Wichita State, Temple, UCONN, and/or Memphis next season? I’ll give you SMU if they lose both Foster and Milton, but that’s about it from that group.

Memphis and UCONN we were very competitive against this season. I don't think you guys realize how much turmoil our roster was in. Are those two teams getting significantly better? Right now you would have to say no.
Temple? Maybe. Tulsa? Maybe. A lot is dependent on this next month or 2, but I think our roster is set to be pretty solid next year.

Honestly I think you might be basing to much on the end of the season where you guys drilled us. Without Kentrell Barkley mind you, it was clear the team with no HC and quit.

“Drilled us” is an understatement. I’ll go on record. ECU finishes no better than 10th next season.

UCONN had and still has the talent. Recruiting rankings back that up. UCONN did not have a coach to utilize/develop that talent. Now we do.

And you guys still could get some good recruits late with Hurley. Has Jermaine Harris said anything since UCONN hired Hurley? UCONN has a chance to finish top 5-6 in the conference next season and get an NCAA bid.

It probably comes down who URI hires as their next Head Coach. URI Assistant Coach Cox (currently the Interim HC) was the lead recruiter for Harris and a few others. If URI promotes him, those recruits likely stay. If they give him the shaft, Hurley likely brings Cox and his recruits to UCONN.
EDIT: Harris has also said he's waiting to see who URI hires before he makes a decision.

Aight, I'll get back to you in a month or so when our coach and roster are in place.
