Yep. I have posted this before that I don't get crazy about it like I did in my youth. Sunday will stick in my mind for a while though. I saw a leader come unglued and his troops followed suit. I was thinking of giving the coaches show a listen, but I am not sure I can deal with the deflection that will be wall to wall. As others have said, everything was set up so nicely for the Cats, too perfect I guess.

when we were gifted the houston game and slept walked to the championship i kinda figured our luck would run out sooner rather than later. great team though. at least we won't have these expectations to worry us for awhile

Yes, he changed his practices so that defense is now stressed 97% of the time rather than 94%.

In light of our deficiencies this made me laugh out loud!

No doubt all the X fans in Nashville joined the Nevada jubilation. Little did they know, two hours later...

Totally reminded me of when we played Illinois in Columbus back under Huggs in the early 2000s. Big Blue Nation was there awaiting their game against not so might UAB. They were cheering like crazy for Illinois and mocking us after the loss. A bunch of us just sat there hoping karma might bite them and it did. UAB beat their blue a$$es and the drive back to cincy was slightly less bitter.

It's taking on a life of its own, like the Crosstown Brawl or the Punch a Horse.

It's taking on a life of its own, like the Crosstown Brawl or the Punch a Horse.

It was a historic loss, after all: the largest blown second half lead ever in the NCAA Tournament.

And it's not like we had a 22 point lead at halftime, which Nevada slowly chipped away the entire half... they blew it all in just 11 minutes.

And it's not like we have a team like this every year, it was easily Mick's best team and he will struggle to put together another team like this for a very long time.

And we had a near perfect draw, with the 1, 3, and 4 seeds already knocked out of our region.

I think people will be talking about this many years from now...

Kenyon breaking his leg
The Crosstown Brawl
The Nuclear Meltdown in Nashville

3 horrific games, and we were in complete control of the last one.

RE: Fellas it’s been fun
I'm the minority who got over (at least to some extent) Kenyon's broken leg rather quickly for one reason: At least he was STILL able to be the #1 overall pick, despite the injury. And he had a long, lucrative NBA career. Pretty amazing stuff in retrospect.

I'm sure Kenyon, like all of us, looks back and wonders what could have been. But, clearly this is something that did not ruin his life, or even his career. I'm very proud of the Bearcat-like manner in which he adjusted, and glad he ultimately returned to the fold, even if he did wait until Z's exit to do so.

Hahah I was at that game. The UC Game sucked but it sure was nice to see UAB win.. we left slightly before the game ended to drive back to cincy but listened to it on the radio. UAB had some incredible plays and passes in that game so sometimes i look up the highlights.

X played after UCLA after UC lost to ISU at Auburn Hills. Got a beer after the UC loss.
X fan got cute with me in the beer line. I totally punked him after that the entire time in the line. Then I found him at halftime of the X game and congratulated for Prosser pressing UCLA idiots. In 98' had 4 idiot Wisconsin fans sitting behind me at Nippert when UC won. One drunk idiot I got the cops to talk to him, then I swiped his beer. He was looking for it and I turned around and thanked him for the cold beer. Saw the same idiot at the Final Four in Indy in 99'.

RE: Fellas it’s been fun
I have stopped watching any live UC games unless I am there. I don't live in town so that is most of the schedule. I DVR and watch later if I want. Made it to one Bball game in NKY this year and my take away was how much fun I had watching that team have fun. I'll keep paying for too many seats at Nippert, because the moments I can get there are worth it, win or lose.

RE: Fellas it’s been fun
I've been to two live basketball games total in the last three years. To enjoy it, I need to buy good enough seats that the cost is prohibitive. However, I do enjoy watching the Bearcats on television, though there is something to the idea of listening on the radio and only watching on DVD if I know the gme won't frustrate me.
