If ya'll would've gotten off your asses and anointed me Benevolent Despot already I could've taken care of this clown by now. 05-mafia

No true Kansan uses “ y’all” This is a southern charltan. Much like the cogs free throw percentages.

KU fan coming to the AAC board? LMAO.

I smell some MAJOR insecurity.

Well he was right about the Kansas y’all thing. If you say y’all you don’t live in Kansas. Although a “Uconn” fan on here was saying y’all for awhile...I don’t know why you’d wanna be a fake southerner but.....

Agree - aint true.

I've heard folks in southeastern Iowa say y'all, and that's way further north than Kansas.

RE: Who's all in for Houston?
Total communications nerd moment but the term "y'all" spread out largely through the great migration out of the South to the less agricultural more urban and industrial Midwest and North. The growing population centers of the West were more diversified in who moved to the region preventing the regional dialect from remaining established and then growing out from it's transplanted enclaves. This also explains the prevalence of y'all through the poorer sections of major metropolitan areas (housing projects of Chicago and New York for example) and why Southerners tend to be viewed as backwards. Many of those who migrated north had little or no education and talked funny.

Finally remember that Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland, and Delaware were all "southern" states as was West Virginia before it split. Bloody Kansas was also a fight about where Kansas belonged and spawned the Jayhawk name. The "south" went a lot farther north than we tend to think. Ok so history nerd moment too.
