Is Frazier Monty's hand puppet?
The Daily Chronicle runs a story on Monty insisting Frazier is 100% percent behind him.

http://www.daily-chronicle.com/2018/03/1...t/da28fjo/

Is Frazier not capable or unwilling to speak for himself? The way NIU athletics handles its business is becoming more of a joke and it starts at the top. No release or announcement when they dismiss a coach (women's soccer), take their sweet time naming new assistants (football), and now we have a coach endorsing himself on behalf of the AD.

Exactly. At this point I’d settle for some Osgood-Schlatter.
STF continues his silent protest of all things NIU athletics.

STF is so invested that since the end of the season, the only discussion he's had with Montgomery is a single phone call.

Ridiculous.

Sean spends an inordinate amount of time on affirmative action type activities. He is always heading to minority NCAA events and committees to network. I would assume he would have some accountability on actual athletics, but the way NIU is operating at the highest levels these days, who knows if that actually happens. It all trickles from the top!

...1 phone call since the season ended and no face to face interaction?

Aren’t most FB/BB HC’s and AD’s in communication with each other damn near everyday?

Is it a protest or is he just distancing himself from the sports he is supposed to oversee? I don't think that's the case, but we will never know because of the complete lack of information coming from that department. I have never seen anything like it. It comes off as a lack of respect for NIU's fans and donors.

At any rate, we are stuck with the holy trinity of STF, Carey, and Montgomery. No one is going anywhere for at least a year and maybe more.

And therein lies the reason(s) that I threw my season ticket renewal package in the garbage about 2 weeks ago.

I could see if your reasoning was the weeknight games because you can’t make them to not renew, but the coaches are the reasons you aren’t. Really harming the football program than making a point.

Everyone can find a reason not to renew, but don’t complain how bad attendance and the atmosphere has gotten if people aren’t doing there part in trying to help the programs. The $60 it costs for east side tickets are the cheapest thing in Chicagoland you will find for a season ticket.

Get ready for the onslaught of phone calls next month. This is when they wake up and realize you exist. This is also when you will have the opportunity to air out your laundry list of complaints. But, maybe they won't even bother to call this year. Last year and the year before, I got calls in April asking if I needed their help in processing my payment.

B.S.! Whether it pertains to NCAA rules, scheduling, fund-raising, eligibility, summer camps, etc., IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN AD COMMUNICATING REGULARLY WITH A DIVISION I FB / BB HEAD COACH THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THEN YOU NEED A NEW AD!
We're not talking about daily, but 17Huskies you are way off the mark if you believe the communication shouldn't be taking place weekly or bi-monthly throughout the year with the possible exception of an early or late summer month.

RE: Is Frazier Monty's hand puppet?
This thread is completely off the rails. Please re-read the article. Monty only said that he had spoken to STF on the phone after the game. He never said it was their only conversation. I highly suspect WAY too much is being made of his comment.

+1, 57—-this is a boss/employee relationship and there should be regular communication all the time. This “only one phone call and no face to face” stuff MAY be getting a little blown out of proportion a little. The Tolentino article said that he (Josh) had spoken to Monty early in the week—that could go all the way back until Monday. Considering that we lost, on the road, the previous Monday and had to travel back, there is always the possibility that Frazier was out of town and/or Monty took a couple days off mid-late last week. At the point Josh wrote the article, he is probably stating facts. I would doubt that two weeks after the loss (tomorrow) they have only communicated once.

RE: Is Frazier Monty's hand puppet?
STF has been in denial for years after he didn't get NIU into another conference didn't get his P5 job. The pitch for B12 was a joke as was every single person on here giving any validity to the idea itself. The mirage of what NIU was , where they were going adn deserved or entitled to. Then he didn't get his stadium, saw attendance drop and basketball, well we all know. He's checked out since he knows there is nothing he can do to get himself to another job since NIU itself is going nowhere. I wouldn't be surprised to see him eventually take a #2 at a P5 and start over.

As far as I'm concerned, Frazier extended the contracts of coaches that have no business coaching a mid major college program. I have supported this team with chairback seats in football as well as courtside seats for basketball since 2003. I am not going to drive 65 miles each way to support a program that I have loved over the years that is now under the leadership of people that do not deserve my support and an AD that created the mess and won't/ can't make changes to correct his mistakes.

Re-read what I responded to you wackos...my goodness. He said near everyday, and I said no...not face to face. Also...just because the article mentions that in one sentence, don't take it as fact that that's all they've talked.

You all have really lost it...
