Well the Rockets were close---down 4 with 16 seconds they tied it but MSU scored with 2 seconds to win 68-66.

Congrats to Buffalo and (probably) CMU ----Imagine 2 MAC teams in the sweet 16.

Took a peek at the Ohio State message board:

“If you are an Ohio State coach that would like to continue coaching at Ohio State, there is one thing you must never do, and that is lose to a team from the MAC.”

Lol.

Lol.

If they really applied that, they would need new men’s and women’s golf coaches and a new baseball coach every year since KSU beats them all annually. To say nothing of their #1 rated wrestler who lost TWICE this past weekend to KSU’s unseeded wrestler Conel, so maybe a new wrestling coach, too.

And hockey for that matter, starting this past season OSU cut off our home-and-home series where Miami would take over their arena in Columbus one game a year.

The UB women’s hoops twitter acct shows a clip of CMU coach Sue calling Coach Jack in the UB lockeroom. Love the MAC comraderie here. Both coaches so happy for the others success

All year I have been posting that the MAC women were having an historically great season. Never did I dream of this. 4-0 in the NCAA tourney so far and not even a close game yet. Central had much tougher games in all 3 of their MAC tourney wins than they have had against LSU and OSU.

Indeed. And when two teams from a non-power conference make the Sweet 16 round that makes a big statement.

I had a hard time watching two women's NCAA games + EMU's CIT game last night.

So UB goes to Albany and gets to hang around with South Carolina (last year's champs), UConn (has won a million championships), and Duke (class of the ACC, always in the mix).

Does it get any more surreal than that? A few years ago the Bulls women's hoops team was a joke.

Definitely both underseeded and backing it up on the court. Both teams are fun to watch. CMU went from winning their first ever NCAA game to the sweet 16.

RE: Women's NCAA March Madness
I wonder if this pissed off the 6 seeds??? Playing 11s with better rpi's and resume's than their own? Equal for OSU and LSU... NOW They are underdogs but still just barely for CMU IMO. Oregon isn't SC. I could see a win there.
