So I checked the other players listed here who were without teams:

Tion Green and Brent Celek appear to still be free agents.

Kendall Calhoun after being waived by the Texans, was signed by the Falcons. He was just released 2 days ago.

Pretty sure Brent Celek retired.

Last update I read said that teams have reached out to him, but that he hadn't made a decision on what he is going to do.

Boone's getting a good look early. He had a 10 yd run saturday, but his more impressive work where is 3 catches which i think is what they are looking for. I'd love to see him make the cut.

Nice, he might have a chance with the Colts. They are very thin at RB. He will have the opportunity to play with a couple former teammates in Deyshawn Bond and Tyreek Burwell.

Mike Boone had 91 rushing yards on 13 attempts + a TD in the Vikings preseason game vs Jacksonville today. Heard some of the game on the radio. The play by play guy stated that Boone was definately the preseason offensive MVP of the team. He a nice blitz pickup late in the game as well. Would be nice to see him make the roster.

I'm guessing he ran every attempt in-between the guards too...03-banghead

Looks sharp. If only he had an offensive line in college (and didn't get injured).

I compared Boone to Kareem Hunt early on because I watched both of their freshman seasons and they both stood out on film. Sadly, Boone was misused here and injured for a good portion of his time on campus. Hope he is able to catch on in the NFL and make an impact. 04-cheers

Hunt is a true sophomore and only became the starter for part of the year last year when David Fluellen was out injured. Cincinnati offered Hunt in the 2013 class but we had Rod Moore and Hosey Williams in the fold.

Love my comparisons...both running backs got opportunities as freshman when starters were injured and took advantage.

2013 Kareem Hunt - Freshman 5-10 210 pounds
137 ATT 866 YDS 6.3 AVG 6 TD

2014 Kareem Hunt - Sophomore 5-10 215 pounds
205 ATT 1631 YDS 8.0 AVG 16 TD
...................................................................

2014 Mike Boone - Freshman 5-10 205 pounds
101 ATT 650 YDS 6.4 AVG 9 TD

Actually almost every run was between the tackles. He just ran hard and found the holes.

He is one of my deep fantasy sleepers. I took him in my 14 team league in the 18th round. That is at least his 2nd TD of the pre-season and he had some success in limited time last season.

Colts resigned him 2 days after cutting him and cut Josh Ferguson instead. Kinda odd.

Edit - Guess they changed their mind and are trying to put Ferguson thru waivers to put him on IR.

Colts' Josh Ferguson: Waived/injured by Colts

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ferguson (groin) was waived/injured by the Colts and will be placed on injured reserve if he clears waivers, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Ferguson's groin issue suffered Monday appears to be serious enough to warrant a trip to injured reserve, prompting the move to open a roster spot for the re-signing of Tion Green as a depth option.

Vikings undrafted rookie Mike Boone had 15 carries for 56 yards. He also caught two passes for 53 yards. Roc Thomas, fighting Boone for the third running back slot, hurt his left ankle when tackled at the end of a screen pass early in the second quarter, and finished with four carries for 12 yards.

Third RB? Hell, there are some Vikings specific blogs/beat-writers who think Boone's performance may put him in the running for second RB by midseason with the way he fits as a 3rd Down/Multiple Offense guy.
