PAC 12 Go 0-3?
Buffalo is a solid MAC team. If AZ plays their C- game, UB could upset them.

I think AZ gets the win but they always tend to make it close in the first rounds.

64 teams left. 1 PAC 12.
Did the PAC just make P6 history?

They could eclipse their 1-8 bowl record if Az. Loses.

I have AZ advancing to the Elite 8. I think they are underrated.

And a few years, like this one, where they were seeded miserably.
Arizona is set up to fail. They were under-seeded, but so was Buffalo. To then potentially get Kentucky. To then get Virginia. And then maybe Cincinnati.
Nobody has it tougher, really, and that's kind of the point given the scope of the scandals that may potentially erase any of this season's work anyway. Place Arizona in a spot where they can do very little damage to the overall tournament as to keep the others safe. Yeah, it sucks for Buffalo, Kentucky, and the rest to have to do the work to be rid of Arizona, but, do you want another Louisville, where you'll be stripping the titles?
I'm left to wonder what might have been if UCLA or Arizona State had won the Pac tournament instead of Arizona. Like, could it have gotten worse for UA?

Virginia losing their 6th man of the year on an 8 team rotation team made me flip Arizona to beating Virginia. It's a matchup of underachievers which is why Kentucky will probably now go to the Final Four.

I've going back and forth on this as well.

RE: PAC 12 Go 0-3?
A lot of soft basketball out in the west right now, especially from the guards.
My money is on USC next year. Alford will be loaded, ... again, but I'm not convinced he can coach for crap. Miller is done at Arizona: nobody signed, a bunch leaving, FBI cloud, and then this pathetic effort on National TV. Stanford is never great.
My son, who knows this better, says the problem with the P12 is all they have are one and done guards. And the NCAA tournament is about having Senior guards, who are tougher, make fewer mistakes and play defense. You just need one good big and a couple senior guards to go two rounds. The P12 with it's one and done guards (at the stronger schools) always under perform, and it destroys the "team." He might be right.
His comment on Kentucky, their talent is so much greater than anyone else that it sometimes overcomes that lack of team.
I should have gone with my gut on Buffalo.

Thanks! But the Pac-12 is actually 5-0 in the NIT, so we've got some company.

Just saw that the Pac 12 going 0-3 was first time they've gone winless in the tourney since 1986.

Eh, I just think they had a bad year. It's not as if one-and-dones haven't won national titles. Firstly, the wrong team got in, Arizona State got in on the back of what they did 3-4 months ago. If they played like they did after New Year's all season, they'd be under .500 and not in any postseason. USC and Utah would have put up a much better fight. Oregon didn't have the resume but they did have Final Four experience.
We shouldn't overreact based on what's happened. It's a down year and they were a few conference tournament upsets either way away from getting 4-5 teams in.
