The Cardinal carrying the banner...in the NIT.

Go Fuzzy Tree Thingie!

Thanks! But the Pac-12 is actually 5-0 in the NIT, so we've got some company.

Quick take...AZ is a mess with Adidas and Miller

PAC12 has a lot of above average schools but none will be considered Top 25 type programs this year

My money is on USC next year. Alford will be loaded, ... again, but I'm not convinced he can coach for crap. Miller is done at Arizona: nobody signed, a bunch leaving, FBI cloud, and then this pathetic effort on National TV. Stanford is never great.

My son, who knows this better, says the problem with the P12 is all they have are one and done guards. And the NCAA tournament is about having Senior guards, who are tougher, make fewer mistakes and play defense. You just need one good big and a couple senior guards to go two rounds. The P12 with it's one and done guards (at the stronger schools) always under perform, and it destroys the "team." He might be right.

His comment on Kentucky, their talent is so much greater than anyone else that it sometimes overcomes that lack of team.

I should have gone with my gut on Buffalo.

Eh, I just think they had a bad year. It's not as if one-and-dones haven't won national titles. Firstly, the wrong team got in, Arizona State got in on the back of what they did 3-4 months ago. If they played like they did after New Year's all season, they'd be under .500 and not in any postseason. USC and Utah would have put up a much better fight. Oregon didn't have the resume but they did have Final Four experience.

We shouldn't overreact based on what's happened. It's a down year and they were a few conference tournament upsets either way away from getting 4-5 teams in.

Well Kentucky has underperformed based on talent because those Freshmen just were not experienced. John Wall's team should have won it all, not lost in the elite 8. But because they were inexperienced, it wasn't a surprise. And that unbeaten team lost in the semis to a very experienced Wisconsin.

If the PAC-12 had went to the PAC-16 like rumored with Texas, Oklahoma, Tech, and Oklahoma State.

They would have been 1-6 in the NCAA tournament.

And just barely one, Texas Tech probably should have lost to SFA, who came apart down the stretch.

Combine it with the 1-8 bowl record and the PAC 12 is 1-11 this season.

Eh, what was their record in major bowls? If you want include all bowls, you have to include all of their NIT games too.

PAC went 1-4 in the NIT 2nd round including Western Kentucky coming to USC and beating them. Only win was Utah at home over LSU

To me, WVU's win over Kentucky in the E8 is just about the biggest upset this decade. Kentucky didn't just have John Wall, they also had Boogie Cousins and Eric Bledsoe. In the NBA, Boogie is one of the 5-6 best players in the world, Wall is an all-star, and Bledsoe has averaged more then 20 PPG in multiple NBA seasons. Heck, Patrick Patterson played more games in the NBA than the entire WVU team has put together.

Kentucky lost because they shot the ball awful in that game. They missed their first *20* three-point shots, and also missed 13 free throws in a 7-point loss.

One ironic thing: The team that benefited from those Kentucky upsets you mention both times was Duke. Duke, who probably couldn't beat either Kentucky team, beat the teams that beat Kentucky and won the national title both years.
