Wichita State Shockers

The Shockers' showing in the American Athletic Conference's regular-season finale (a loss to Cincinnati) and AAC tournament (a semifinal loss to Houston) didn't go as planned, but a year of playing in a power conference instead of the Missouri Valley will suit Gregg Marshall's team well in this tournament. It's already paid off as WSU is a No. 4 seed this year, compared to a No. 10 last year as a 30-win club. In the East Region, experts described how easy Villanova's path to the Final Four might be. Not if WSU has anything to do with it. Third-team All-American Landry Shamet came alive in last year's Dance, and he'll need to do the same this year for a run to San Antonio.

Damn. I wouldnt have believed this jump was possible before the season began, but here we are.

30-4 = 10-seed (MVC)
25-7 = 4-seed (AAC)

I would pick Houston to the Final Four before us.

I have Houston in my Sweet 16 FWIW (ie not Coogin' It)...but you never know...

I would argue that the simple fact that Houston had the season they had and is an at-large team in the big dance with a single digits seed for the first time in a long while.......it is basically impossible for them to "coog it" at this point. This season alone is a big step for them. No need to put unnecessary expectations on them now. Just enjoy it in all it's glory

I mean that is the great thing about the tourney is anything can happen. We could lose tomorrow or make it all the way to San Antonio.

I just want all the upsets. Forget my bracket. The more upsets (outside of AAC) the better our teams have at advancing.

I can't imagine what a FF in SA with Houston would be like. Talk about getting the fanbase back on board.

Losing to 11 seed San Fanhood would be the definition of Coogin' It. If they make it past that game, they're in the clear.

Please, please don't lose to SDSU. I don't want to have to see Fanhood up in here running his yap.

This team has no size. With a legit center, I'd like this team but between the lack of towering size and the tough, tough draw, I'd be thrilled with a Sweet 16.

National Power Shockers are always a threat.

True the AAC maiden tour did not go as planned but we all know why now. We sold our defensive magic to the Coogs this year. The contract was only for 2018 season. We're gettin' it back next year...
