Funny, I went to East from K-4 a hundred years ago. Got a Mustangs football helmet for my 7th birthday. Lol.

A historical note--in those days it was a segregated whites only school.

She graduated in 1968. I didn't go to high school at East, so I don't really know if she was there for elementary or not when I was. I had a friend who graduated in her class and hung out with her as friends in HS. Two or three yrs later when she was famous, he was in NYC at the age of 20 bumming around and needed a place to stay for the night, so he got her number from her mom, called her up and spent the night at her apt drinking beer and sleeping on her couch. She was just like old high school days he said, lol.
