A 6’8” lineman can spell it “poodle” for all I care. Just as long as he signs.
Exactly......geez. Wisconsin lineman have had tons of success at NIU. Welcome Leif!!
Thats a left tackle, moves well, athletic. Needs HUSKIE weight room.
He is the next Shraping. Big and smart. Look at schools that offered. Very bright

"LeBlanc hopes to use Williams and safety Justin Clark, who also spent time at quarterback last season, primarily in the secondary on defense. Clark last week verbally committed to Northern Illinois"

Nice job Tap! I missed Clark's 11.10 100 meter. That is definitely fast. That puts him between Jyran Mitchell's 11.28 and Jordan Rowells 10.89.
In terms of other safeties speed, Buirge ran a 11.4. So did previous Huskie Daniel Isom.

Actually, I took it as he'd rather play DB if given the chance. But, it doesn't change the fact that he'll decommit if a perceived better opportunity is presented.

Kind of sad when a kid rather go to Iowa State than NIU. We should be beating out low-tier P5 schools for recruits and not 1-AA schools.

Why would you say that? Iowa state averaged 58,000 in attendance last year and have Iowa, Oklahoma, tcu, tex tech, texas, ok st, West Virginia and Baylor on their schedule this year. Sounds appealing to me.

Not that I care about Iowa State, but after last season there is some good hype for Iowa State. Their RB is a stud and overall team is trending up. Now you say a school like Kansas or especially Rutgers that is different.

Iowa State has always been down at the bottom of the Big 12. Attendance doesn't make you good at football. Do you think Houston, UCF, Cincinnati, and those schools are losing recruits to low-tier P5 schools like Iowa State?
If we want to get to the next level and maintain then we need to do better than mostly recruits with 1-AA offers.

We've lost recruits to Kansas and Rutgers too. All I'm saying is if all we can do is beat out 1-AA schools for recruits then Carey better start becoming a better coach.

Lol seriously? You turned this into being Carey's fault? Wow.
Let's see, play for Kansas/Rutgers/Maryland/Iowa St against top tier P5 schools
OR
play for NIU and play against Bowling Green, Akron, Kent St, EMU, etc
Hmm I wonder what these kids will choose between the two.

While the Cyclones do post losing records often, they win enough to sell to some kids(4 top 25 rankings since 2000. Same as NIU.)
Throw in 3xs the athletic budget and I’m sure the facilities are way more appealing. A school can sell more than on field wins to attract athletes.

I can't understand either. Especially when the fans show so much support for the coach.

I'm sure message boards for Iowa state over the last 20 years have been no more positive about the coach. Probably less so.

Carey is the head coach of the program and its him and his staff that do the recruiting. Whose fault is it if we can only beat 1-AA schools for recruits?
While Iowa State may play top tier schools they often lose to those top schools. If you haven't seen Iowa State traditionally at the bottom of the Big 12 with Kansas then you haven't been following college football.
