I'm surprised that the university didn't require the students to attend, like they did for when Ted Cruz announced his presidential candidacy.

All speaking events at Liberty require mandatory attendance from students. They have a weekly Friday-assembly, or something like that, that every student has to go to.

But yeah, it's often used for Cruz, Trump, and Jerry Falwell Jr's other Republican friends to come in and give a speech to a full room for TV.

When Liberty University had just gone Division I, they were on our schedule. People were laughing about it, then they won the game.

They've had a diverse group of speakers, but never once rioted because someone with a different view was on campus.
Diverse? You're nuts, they are a f***ing cult.

Meanwhile, anyone catch Buffalo crush Arizona and the future #1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft by 21 in the real tournament? That is what it's all about. That is what EMU should aspire to be...that is what EMU used to be.

The nice thing about the CIT is we are playing other D1 conferences so we can see how we has a MAC team fare.

It looks like Drake is a hot ticket in Des Moines, anyway. I guess we could ask our football coach.

Yep I called that game :-)

Buffalo senior guards > Arizona guards

Buffalo will be a tough out.

All MAC schools should aspire to Buffalo's performance. EMU second best MAC team IMHO that underachieved this year.

Hey turdball loser, if you have empathy for a sham of a right wing nutjob "university" like Liberty, than you need to have your EMU degree revoked. Garbage like that is not what we teach at Eastern Michigan University.

You have anger issues. Go chill out somewhere.

Bob, you may not realize but UB isn't a whole lot better than EMU. IMHO.

TOL was || much better (that is a symbol for one point 03-lmfao) better than EMU in the MAC semis.

That game could have gone either way. EMU swept TOL during the conference season.

It was decided in the last 10 seconds which means it was probably who got lucky.

I dare say that during February UB wasn't much better than EMU. I think we had the best MAC conference record from say the beginning of February.

Again, we missed our chance to advance to play UB by a made trey with less than 10 seconds left.

Based on ABILITY, EMU deserved to be in the NIT, but the NIT hosts conference regular season champs which get upset in the automatic bid tourney. Hence, no available slots for the EMUs of the world...

This was our year and we came || close to advancing.

I dare say if we can keep the team together (other than Bond) we'll compete with UB for the MAC title next year.

BTW, here is the UB roster:

They lose Wes Clark. We lose Tim Bond.

http://www.ubbulls.com/sports/mbkb/2017-18/roster

If we can keep JT4, Minnie and Jackson together, we'll be tough. That's a very good trio of impact players.

BTW, UB earned the MAC, and I assume each school some money last night.

https://twitter.com/WarrenKZola/status/9...6732920832

Would be nice if the MAC would give UB expenses, maybe 'two shares' and distribute the rest to member schools.

Be nice if EMU would pick up say $100K.

I would not be shocked to see Harris test the NBA waters. Probably the best pro prospect on either team.

Just my GUT and gut only. I do not see JT4 going pro now.

I could see him coming back OR I could see him, if he graduates this summer, doing a grad transfer to a big name school.

I just don't see him leaving EMU say one semester short of a biology degree.

If he studied 'basketweaving' I could see him leaving, but for a biology major to p*ss away a degree for a CHANCE to play in the NBA isn't my idea of a good move.

The big thing is that the 2018/9 team could be one of the two best teams in the conference, and not an also ran...

Sounds like enough to cover Eastern's tournament entry fee.

Yep. and pay the bonus to Murphy. And still have some $ left.

UB happy. We happy.

No disagreement here as I don't see Thompson getting drafted based on what else is available. If he declares again I hope he gets honest advice and does not hire an agent. He needs to be able to put the ball on the floor and drive, shoot the mid range jumper and improve his free throw shooting before any serious NBA consideration.

O/T but for the first time in history, a #1 seed (UVa) is going down to a #16 (UMBC).

Unbelievable!!!

Did I hear that UMBC shot 68% in the 2nd half?
