You hush your mouf son. You hit the Commonwealth line and you’ll be gently ushered into 3 luxurious lanes to choose from. You’ll enjoy this 3 lane luxury until right beyond Cave City. Around 60 miles of comfort. Sit back. Light your corn cobb pipe and put the Grand Marquis on cruise control.

It will narrow down to a meager 2 lanes each side for the next 30 miles until you hit Etown aka Elizabethtown Ky where you’ll again enjoy the wonder of 3 luxurious lanes all the way into the Derby City.

But no worries on that horrid 30 mile stretch (what we call Tennessee highways) as we’re working on it. 04-cheers

Enjoy your highway driving amigo and beat the Cards. Just keep winning.

It's actually less than 30mi. Closer to 20mi than 30mi if I remember right.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Louieville. I wasn’t sure how much of that stretch past Cave City they’ve finished. They’ve been doing it in ~10 mile stretches for awhile.

I cry all the time about the Tennessee highways because I go to Florida a lot. Tennessee is always my bottleneck. You hit the Georgia line and you have 3 glorious lanes all the way through the state. 356 miles of rolling. Then you hit my old homestate and you have the same. 3 lanes both sides of 75 pretty much all the way.

That one extra lane doesn’t sound like a lot but it keeps the trucks out of the left one and is much, much safer in my opinion.

Going south when you hit the Tennessee line our 3 lanes bottleneck from the line to Nashville. You don’t pick up that third lane until Madison. Nashville has done a ton of work over the years trying hard to keep up with their massive growth but it’s tough when you’re one of the fastest growing places around. To their credit they have 3 laned it from Nashville to Murfreesboro. But they had to since Murfreesboro is essentially a Nashville bedroom community if you look at the traffic coming in during the morning and going out in the afternoon.

The stretch between Murfreesboro and Chattanooga is 2 lanes and sucks if anything happens on it. There are some extra lanes up and down Monteagle to deal with the trucks.

Tennessee is a growing state but with no state tax base they’ve chose not to keep up with the state above them and below them highway wise. Enough crying by me. Don’t get me started on Hilljack Arkansas and their stretch between Memphis and Little Rock.

Hell, I have 3 little un's and we rarely travel past Murfreesboro and our 4 lanes.

But dammit if those 4 lanes aren't putting your, and your kids' lives in jeopardy. That is one of my greatest fears.

We are so busy with soccer, karate, baseball, and gymnastics.......... that going to Walmart on Friday evening is a "night on the town", but I wouldn't change it for the world.

You obviously haven't traveled US 60 between Kenova and Huntington. One must take great caution so as to not bust a tire when you hit a smooth spot in the road.

The road is shittt for sure. But it’s not just that. There’s so much commerce between Little Rock and Memphis that it’s a freaking train of damn semis at all times. I’ve never made that drive peacefully. And the assssholes get in the left lane going a half a mile faster than the truck they’re passing so it takes a good 5 miles for them to ever get around them. Once you’re past North Little Rock and heading to Fort Smith the traffic thins out and it’s beautiful country through there too. Little Rock to Texarkana not so much. Pretty heavy traffic on that stretch too.
