Qualcomm/Broadcomm merger denied
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/12/techn...erger.html

"President Trump on Monday blocked Broadcom’s $117 billion bid for the chip maker Qualcomm, citing national security concerns and sending a clear signal that he was willing to take extraordinary measures to promote his administration’s increasingly protectionist stance.
In a presidential order, Mr. Trump said “credible evidence” had led him to believe that if Singapore-based Broadcom were to acquire control of Qualcomm, it “might take action that threatens to impair the national security of the United States.” The acquisition, if it had gone through, would have been the largest technology deal in history...."

Wouldn't be surprised if this was a factor is Tillerson's ouster.

as soon as I saw this one I thought....yep, and why DJT is the real deal.....

that's a monster move for an ® to make denying that one....that's where you know you don't want another Cheney fiasco.....

this one is where if you had any doubt about DJT's motives, one should feel a tad better today....

I honestly think his only motive is best method to ensure his ego and legac that will correct as req'd......I've seen nothing to date that changes that opinion.....

I don't like the initial design of the tariff as first pass (which he's already backed off of with canada and mexico).....however, I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt until the numbers roll in after a couple of quarters....

ol' boy isn't stupid......

he gets 2 quarters before I really start pounding that gavel.....

Unlike the tariffs, this really is in our nations security interests.

which is the importance of pointing out this being a choice of "country over party"....

NOBODY gets it right out of the gate every time.....

my attraction to his methodology and ideology is what I pay attention to.....

I never gave two shites how strange his personality can be at times.....hell, it simply gives me fodder to laugh at....

it's no different than if any other candidate would have been willing to use the same approach.....but they didn't b/c they couldn't....

whether he gets 'em all right is irrelevant....people pay too much attention to the bs....that's the msm is good at.....that's why sheeples

what #henceDJT is really good at is getting shite done with a #MAGA motivation with the ability to adapt.....

Tillerson is gone because a nations president and his Secretary of State can’t be on different pages. They have to work together toward the same goals. The president decides foreign policy—the Secretary of State implements it. That’s how it has worked for 230 years or so.
