Drake Bulldogs (CIT)
Drake has a very unusual history. Mediocre or bad for most of the post 1986 era...but they were a powerhouse for about 5 years around 1970. Almost won the NCAAs in 1969.

BTW, CIT games on CBS Sports Network all day for BB junkies.

Their 2008 season came out of nowhere. No NCAA since 1971. Picked last in the league. Won 21 in a row and spent most of the year ranked top 25. 5-seed in NCAA Tournament. Lost in OT on Courtney Lee circus 3 at buzzer.

Rookie coach in Keno Davis who nearly won national coach of the year and has completely busted at Providence and C Michigan in the 10 years since. Bizarre career.

More I watch college sports on CBSSN the more respect I have for the network. ESPN uses non-P5 games as infomercials for upcoming P5 games and rather than give you any useful information about the players and coaches they either want to talk about the school’s biggest name win even if a decade or more ago or some coach who used to be there as a coach or player. CBSSN tends to stick to the teams and players actually playing.

That is because CBS doesn't have numerous channels to pimp

Regardless of the reason, I like it. The CBSSN bowl productions are great. Pre-game show that talks CFB in general but mainly focuses on the upcoming game and then a well produced game telecast concentrating on the game at hand.

I don't like the way ESPN College Football Live pimps 4-5 programs all week and then on Gameday spends 70% of the show on those same programs. There's a lot more to college football than just those programs that might compete for the national championship. 90% of the P5 get about the same coverage as the G5 on ESPN.
