RE: 2018-2019 MBB Schedule
Supposedly Kithcart is a menace defensively. Him and Caver are going to be a problem for a lot of backcourts.

Elbert is just big....which is great. He will likely start and will not add much production, outside of blocking shots and taking up a ton of space.

ALL FRESHMAN ARE SUPPOSED TO PLAY! (This is until they screw up and are in Jeff's doghouse) The two names that were said that will play the most are Wade and Ezipke.

Supposedly Caver looks better than ever.

RE: 2018-2019 MBB Schedule
Thanks for update. Wade looks ready to play, I just wonder how he works into the rotation with so much competition. Reece appears to be the most talented, but may need to put on some weight before he sees too much time. I've been all over Ez. That dude has the body to play right away and his skills seem to be improving everyday.

I would venture to guess there are some really tough battles between Kithcart and Caver.

Wade will factor into the 2-3 spots. We are really deep and we may play that way throughout the year. This will be a year where guys get their opportunities, and if they show well, they will stay in the rotation. I cannot imagine getting a ton of opportunities with the talent that is on the roster.

Reece is the most talented, but Wade is not far behind. Ezipke is a physical freak and is believed to be an All Conference talent by his second or third year in the conference, but Reece could be a future POTY. I can't wait for everyone to tell me about my Hueitt prediction. I know, I know, but this is wayyyyy different.

Caver and Kithcart are getting a lot of time on the floor in the same lineup. They are both going to start. Elmore and Burks are extremely talented, but they are going to be so annoyed when they play against us. Kithcart is going to allow us to pull Caver off the really quick primary ball handler, which will give him more in his legs. I still don't expect to see Caver come off the floor very often.

If Dickens is declared eligible, I will predict an NCAA Tournament appearance. I am not predicting an at large bid, but I am predicting a conference tourney win. I believe and so do some others that we have the right senior leadership this year. Dickens will improve greatly throughout the year and we will be deep in our frontcourt if he is eligible and develops. This is the type of team, that could click at the right time and make a big run. There is something to be said about having a senior/captain/all conference PG. I can promise you that with our backcourt's defensive abilities (I thought Caver was already the best on ball defender in the conference last year) there will be some P5 teams that will not want to play us in the tournament, if we get there. Patience will be required this year, as I can see an early season struggle, followed by a huge run at the end of the year. I am going to do my best to stay extremely patient and rely on my gut feel with this team.

Again...my prediction...Conference USA tournament champions (if Dajour is eligible).

where does Godwin figure in? We've heard Kithcart isn't much of a shooter.

No clue. True on Kithcart. He can get to the basket better than anyone on the team.

You've got me pumped for the season. I can't wait. If we stink, I blame you.

Also, I can't watch any more football, so I'm ready for hoops to start.

Exciting potential. I just want to witness a vcu beat down this year.

Do not forget Backcourts in CUSA wins championships. If we can find just enough outside shooting to keep teams honest defensively we could be a dangerous team offensively. I believe we will find away to play defense well enough to find W's.

Perhaps the G Me, Godwin and Green, can provide what we need from the outside, and without having to do all of the ball handling, Caver's shot can improve.

Caver shot 37% from 3 two years ago and 35% last year. If he improves on that, he might be conference player of the year.

Though, those voters always pick terribly.

...not to mention being the school whose bank account dwarfs everyone not named UVA and W&L. Good for them. Fans are going to need it playing in the A10 with that roster they have.

Speaking of UR...I don't know if this was posted previously but they'll be without De' Monte Buckingham who was dismissed from the team back in May for violating athletics department policy. He is now at Cal St Bakersfield. That's a big hit for them...
