If you recall our 1996 elite 8 team with Fortson only beat
UNC-Somebody by four points or so (just going off memory) and that UC team was a 2 or 3 seed. That same team went on to soundly beat Temple and SMOKE the ACC tourney champ Georgia Tech.
I don't care if we win by 1 or 101. Bottom line is, we are the 2Seed...no excuse to lose.
In march nobody cares how you win...just win. Style points don't matter vs just winning and advancing.
Bearcat 2 seed history vs 15
2000
15 UNC Wilmington 47
2 Cincinnati 64
1998
15 Northern Arizona 62
2 Cincinnati 65
1996
15 UNC Greensboro 61
2 Cincinnati 66
1993
15 Coppin State 66
2 Cincinnati 93
for my well being on Friday afternoon about 3:45pm, Im hoping for a 2000 or 1993 type year
If I remember right, that '98 Northern Arizona team had no inside presence but shot something ridiculous like 60% from 3-pt land as a team. The coach was quoted as saying "We recruit to shoot." They made a game of it by bombing treys from all over the place.

My guess is CBS New York made those decisions as to which of their channels they'd direct each game to for national telecast. Back when the entire tournament was covered only on CBS broadcast TV, individual market affiliates could pick and choose games they wanted for their own markets. Looking back, it's hard to believe that we could only see a portion of the tournament games and had to settle for "live look ins" and highlights on the rest.

It's all National these days. They don't select games for certain markets anymore.
Got it. That's too bad, doesn't affect me but not everyone has cable and you'd think the local team could get on a network. Oh well.
By the way, Mick was completely right about them selecting games for TV. It is so obvious if you look at the times some of these games are scheduled and who is in them. Example, all the PAC teams got night cappers

Why wouldn't they? Putting West Coast games in the early time slots is just bad business. A significant amount of people don't take off Thursday and Friday, starting those games late allows their advertisers to get better returns. That's what it is ALL about.
UC has about a 0 percent chance of playing in the noon game on Sunday, because of Nevada and Texas being their opponent, nor would I expect Xavier vs. Buffalo in that slot either.
I think the Nashville rounds will be played in the second time slot 5:15 & 7:45, but I hope I am wrong.

Yes. I agree. More to the point in how they matchup and seed teams and its effect on this.

Bolded, understandable from a viewership/revenue perspective since the tourney has become a billion dollar baby.
Speaking of the Pac 12, they are out of the Tournament after one day and it was shared here that the TV audience for the CCG was much smaller than the American's.
Aresco needs to strike while the iron is hot and press ESPN for a Pac 12/American Challenge next season. The Pac 12 has some powerful brands but is really down; the American is rising and racking up strong viewership. Cincy and UCLA would be the headliner and that game is already scheduled. Build around that in 2018 with the top dogs from each conference. It's very consistent with Aresco's P6 rhetoric.

The Pac 12 also doesn't have much fan support or interest. I think they are in real trouble long-term. I think it goes much further than the schools being down, even with a still notable brand name people out there care about college sports less and less every year. I can't imagine they are going to get a good TV deal when this one expires even with some of the "name" schools that are in that league. They aren't drawing any eyes. I wish there was a way the AAC could add Colorado State and BYU.
