As you did not go about that in a guidelines set forth by the University...you don't get paid that amount of money for the job you were hired to do.

I'd appreciate a rational response..contracts are not my forte (I'm more of a computer guy)

I mean. You could try and hold out and claim he didn't fulfill his job duties, but in the end you're just going to get into drawn out and costly litigation that isn't going to paint the University in the best light and will complicate hiring coaches in the future. Like say when we have to hire a football coach in probably December. And even if you "won" after years of expensive and most likely embarrassing litigation, you'd probably only offset a fraction his salary. So it's not worth it.

The only way you would remove Tubby for cause is if you had him on tape handing money to a player, or he was credibly accused of sexually harassing someone, or he got arrested for fraud, or god forbid he had a stroke or something and just couldn't perform his duties. Otherwise just come to terms with the fact that we're going to have to give the man his money.
