I disagree with you GDawg

Arkansas and Vandy (argueably) were the worst teams in their respective West and East SEC divisions, even U.S.C. beat them both last year. Some SEC surprised teams early on (arizona, etc.) but down the stretch it was Kentucky that rose to the occasion. As usual

The ACC had 3 top 25 teams. The SEC had 5, I think.

12 SEC teams and 9 ACC teams, so you would hope more SEC teams in the polls. Polls are meaningless, IMO

From what I know....

National Championships
ACC - 9 ( Duke 3, N. Carolina 3, NC State 2, Maryland 1)
SEC - 8 (Kentucky 7, Arkansas 1)

Final 4 Apperances
ACC has 2 teams in the top 5 - N. Carolina with 15 has been to the most, Duke at 13, the 3rd most.
SEC has 2 teams in the top 10 - Kentucky is tied for 3rd with 13 appearances, Arkansas is tied for 9th with 6 appearances.

Even with those, I think the ACC just has more tradition and quality from top to bottom in basketball. Now, every so often, like last year, and 1994 and 1996, the SEC will be the stronger conference. On a consistent basis, the ACC is stronger in basketball.

For all sports though, no one kicks butt like the SEC
