Shadow and Poster thanks for the info on FGCU. I wasn't aware they were the ones wo chickened out. I'm sure Forbes and Co are doing everything they can to get games with attractive higher RPI opponents.
How much fun would it have been this year to have played say South Dakota or SD State, Loyola-CHI, MTSU, maybe even an IVY league school such as Harvard, SE Louisiana or Louisiana U(formerly La-Lafayette), Wagner, Vermont, etc, etc ? I feel for them as it seems to get harder and harder each year. All they can do is keep trying as I'm sure they will.

Update: Apparently, it was the Salukis who backed out, along with maybe High Point, although I'm not sure that was a done deal to begin with.
And on the second post of the "2017-18 Schedule" thread, shampoo posted that we were going to play at UT, which turned out not to be the case. From reading that thread, it's not clear whether that was originally supposed to happen or not. I think we know with what Barnes said after the narrow win last year that he didn't want any part of us again.
