Haha! Try watching some basketball, then you may get a clue!

Glad to see the MW get 2 bids.

Outside of the audio not syncing, I've got no issue with naming the 68 entries first.

They need to switch from alphabetical order to ranking order.

USC finishes 14-7, Arizona St finishes 8-11. ASU finishes 1-5 with the lone win over 8-23 California and losses to Oregon, Oregon St, Stanford, & a 12 point loss to Colorado.

ASU is in, USC is out.
So, USC beat two #1 seeds?

Let’s put St John’s in. 2 games > 20

When? Last year?

Obviously I’m making a point about ASU not deserving to get in.

Exactly. Arizona St beat both Kansas and Xavier this season!

RPI matters.

USC is in the mid 30s.

So, we have a new RPI line for majors. Since, before this season, you were probably safe if you were in the top 40 as a major. USC is #34. Louisville was #38.

This one still found a way to steer away from things, though. Three at-larges from the 60-70 range. KenPom didn't hate them nearly as much as RPI, but, you still saw USC and Louisville better in both RPI and KP than NCST and ASU. SMC better than numerous ones, too.

St. Bonaventure is the metric-killer this season. RPI 24 and KP 69...nobody is nearly that uneven that made the field. Still wondering how they get in. A10 did not deserve this, and I'm a big A10 fan.

Exactly. Arizona St beat both Kansas and Xavier this season!

And then then finished with a losing record in worst “P6” conference. I’m just glad they’re going to provide an equally undeserving Syracuse team with a tournament victory for the conference fanboys!

You all complaining about ASU haven't been paying attention to the selection criteria

ASU beat two number one seeds
Beat both Kansas and KSU on the road
Swept UCLA/USC
Beat San Diego St

USC only beat ONE tourney team - New Mexico St.

Exactly like the guy who mentioned St. John’s then. You can’t lose most of your conference games and expect to be rewarded. Who cares if a team won games in November? I think UNC lost to Winthrop in November and won the title. They should have never eliminated the “what have you done recently” clause. I don’t even have a dog in this fight, but ASU played like garbage in conference and Syracuse is in because of name only.

They did make it to the Pac final. Sigh, if only Alabama had lost their last two games and Rhode Island beat Davidson. I'm sure SMC, USC and Notre Dame would have made it. Had Texas lost to Iowa State, there's USC's spot.

The problem with the "in the last ten" criteria is it can punish teams in really good conferences, compared to those in worse conferences. Though if it's just one set of criteria, why not use it?

Which for the purpose of this conversation, doesn't count. Heck, NMSU almost doesn't count.

I'm not sure the selection committee listens to its own criteria anymore.

They could have done this online and people could have read it for the info in three minutes.

The concept of a "selection show" is ridiculous and is just "fake hype".

Seems like they kind of pick randomly, each year the criteria is different.

Davidson booted ND out.

The committee sure liked the ACC.
