By the way, did anyone on here actually win any of those TVs? Care to share a pic if so?

Depends on the entirety of the deal. Postponed compensation is often the way to go.

I agree, but in the end who gives a crap what the national guys think. They don’t pay any bills at the u of m or the salary of the coach. They don’t run things here. They don’t get a vote. But fans like you and I and others do actually have a vote or voice if we choose to not buy tickets. Screw what they think.

I'm not knocking the hire at all but how do you set market value for a coach with no college coaching experience? What UK would pay for him as an assistant?

Don't worry. The national guys will come around. Theyll be salivating to tell his story when he has us back in the tourney.

More like his pursuit of the job at High Point so he can get work for GG and Saul.

Really irritates me. When asked about the NIT, Tubby said "We really haven't beaten anybody". Tubby not only fails to promote our team, he manages to lobby against it.

Market value for a guy w/ zero D1 coaching experience is far less than what Penny will be offered regardless. And how he divies up the total coaching budget will depend on his goals. Norvell has given up personal salary for assistant budget in both of his contract negotiations.

I remember they used to give a free flat screen TV away to a lucky winner in the upper deck. Even with a packed lower bowl, Cal loved drumming up interest to sell all of the upper deck tickets he could.

Tubby is a far cry from this. He sees it as the job of the university's marketing department.

Cal had bonus incentives based on tickets... and then went to UK and bad mouthed us about “having to sell tickets”.

KY is one of the few programs where seats sell out regardless of short term slumps.

Penny strong armed the university by strategically leaking info when he should have kept quiet. He will get his wish and will get hired, but now the university holds all the cards. Start the negotiations at $1 million and see where it goes.

This is not true.

But it does fit one agenda.

There are other truths and other agendas that probably should be taken into consideration.

Everyone better unite to the main agenda: B.B. has to stop hemorrhaging money ASAP.

FB is also on shaky ground as long as this continues.

Furthermore, Tubby is certain that attendance is not his problem, which means his alienation of the fan base is all on us ---the fans.

That's not going to bring fans and increase donations.

If money is a issue with penny he'll likely ask for 2mil. And probably get it. Jmho.

Cal may have bemoaned having to sell the program to the city, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t incredibly effective at drumming up support.

Didnt say he was... he was the best Ive seen at it.

So if this happens...must he get team to tourney by 2020?

And if we return the core of this year's team, which was solid but not great at all...how much must he improve on that if he gets a couple four star or five star kids?
