I keep forgetting this board doesn't auto-embed most things.

I actually prefer the bend but don't break style. In college, teams have some crazy high powered offenses and holding them to field goals is a win in the college game. In order to play the bend but don't break, you have to be a great tackling team.

I really really hope we walk into Lynchburg on opening day and win in convincing fashion. Although I expect a close game and a frenzied crowd. We will be the first FBS team playing in their stadium and from a conference that rejected them. I think that game is going to set the tone for the entire season.

A problem with it seems to be it keeps the D on the field way to long, tiring them out and preventing our O from getting on the field.

The whole “tired” defense thing has been defunked over and over again. Its some of those buzzwords people eat up that “sound right.”

I want to roll into Lynchburg and crush them, but I have no idea what their team will be like this season. They went 6-5 last year.

Well, I am not sure that "over and over again" is accurate. I believe that ONE person, Andrew Schechtman-Rook, did a statistical analysis on the subject.
However, IMHO, it ignored some intangibles.
Additionally, there are a substantial number of football "gurus" (not announcers) who are still proponents of "tired defense" theory.

BW as well, because he has often made the case for "tired" defense using the word "gassed" when our D was on the field a lot.

Drayton Arnold is getting a lot of love this spring. ODUsports highlights him often in articles and videos this spring.

Any thoughts on how the depth chart may change?

Looks like we are a little thin on the left side of the O-Line. Hope no one gets hurt

Ed has a new article up on spring practice and covers the OLine, looks like the right side is the bigger issue. Also, Frank Wilson got a promotion;

Interesting that Arnold has passed LaRussa on the chart.

No offense to LaRussa, but that has to be a good thing.

Might be because Larussa has been injured.
