The NCAA would love nothing more than to have that guy carry them to victory over someone like Villanova or Xavier in round 2 and spend the next week hyping the Sweet 16 games and drumming up interest. Same with Oklahoma and Young. They may well find a way to get MTSU a bid, but it isn't likely to come from those teams.

The BE will get 6 teams in this year. Villanova won it all 2 yrs ago. Don't think there are 2 many cinderellas or "little guys" in that league that the media looks down on, if that's what you mean to say.

Those teams don't generate the revenue that big, public P5 schools do. They may not look down on them, but if given a choice they'd rather have Texas or Alabama in the 2nd weekend. Really outside of students, parents, and alumni, nobody cares about Providence or Seton Hall. You go into a Dicks sports store in Texas and wont find a Xavier hat, but you will definitely find a Texas hat in a Cincinnati Dicks. Those Big East teams are excellent basketball programs, but are not national brands any moreso than WKU or Marshall.

Rpi is what is helping mtsu. The more weight they give to rpi the better mtsu's chances. Mtsu has a better rpi and win% vs the top 50 rpi than every other bubble team save one.

I don't think anybody cares about Texas basketball in the northeast.

Georgetown and Villanova are certainly national brands. The rest of them I can see your point.

Oklahoma, Arizona St., Syracuse, and ?? likely in the First Four. I don't think this is what we thought the deal was going to be when they expanded the field.

TBS/CBS is trying to compete with ESPN since they can broadcast their selections shows simultaneously now. They hoped by revealing the entire field in the first 15 minutes, they would eliminate situations in which people learned the field in advance before the selection show.

RE: One bid conference
The NCAA is so bogus. I cant believe some of the crappy records the Privileged 5 conference teams have. Its outrageous. MTSU and WKU should have been in, but of course I didnt expect that. MTSU got shafted.

RE: One bid conference
Well the good news is we should be a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT and host some big games with the chance to go to MSG in the NIT Final Four (if that happens, I will be there since I live in NYC area).
