Georgia just opened up. He can go home.

SEC school not going to hire Tubby...They have money to throw at guys like Matta.
Question is would Memphis accept a NIT invitation. It costs to play and the administration I doubt wants to keep losing money if they know they are firing tubby.

you get paid to play in the NIT...

I'm not saying to keep Tubby. I'm just saying it does matter how things are perceived nationally. Deal with Tubby a few days after the season ends. It would make Memphis look bad nationally to fire its coach with 20+ wins, prior to post-season play.

And yes, Memphis will make the NIT.

Check out the Bracketology for the NIT.

Memphis isn't going to the NIT but the Tigers are on the list of possible candidates for the prestigious CBI.

It doesn't cost to play in the NIT. That's the CBI and the CTI you have to pay to play in. And of course Memphis would accept an NIT invitation, but they aren't getting one.

I know they get paid what I mean does it offset the travel costs among other things. I've heard universities actually lose money by being involved.

And you're also making the assumption the 600 people who will attend will even pay the light bill at the forum.
