the farther west in the time zone, the more daylight is gained later in the day as measured in minutes....if that's the goal, it makes perfect sense....I could easily see the benefit in the warmer months generating more outdoor activity stimulating business that would thrive having that extra hour after a normal workday....the obvious downside would be the mornings in the colder months and how that would influence transportation and morning businesses that would suffer due to a later 'sunrise'....

the bottom line is the amount of daylight is a measurable constant as the earth tilts and rotates depending on latitude.....relative to longitude, I would opt for more daylight later vs earlier....however, that's just my opinion...

it's just another in a long list how we know we live on a sphere and not a disk.....it's also why managing and measuring time is important relative to how humans interact geographically...

It could stay daylight for 16 hours every single day and I'b be ok with it.
