It’s more than that. Tubby’s brand/style is hurting the business as in dollars and cents. Tubby was trying to run a HighPoint program at a Top 25 program

It’s insulting to bad mouth a local legend. It’s also insulting to disrespect the hand that feeds you.

Not sure why the few Tubby fans are defending him on his agent's outburst. It gives some legal grounds for firing for cause--or at least raising that as an issue and negotiating his buyout downward because of it.

Tubby could have ridden off into the sunset looking good, looking like the unjustly jilted sweetheart with the media all tsk tsking at Memphis. I don't think that's as true anymore.

Are you really that stupid? Penny has been the coach at middle school and high school level for several years. Even won championships if I remember correctly.

Believes all he needs to do is X and O in practice and during games. Not willing to do what is needed to keep the program from playing in front of empty arena. 6000 in an 18,000 seat arena looks very very bad on TV. You cannot get enough people in any area to fool the cameras.

As much as i hated how Cal screwed us over at least he was out there promoting the program and doing all the right things to keep the Memphis name relevant.

After today's nuclear attack by Tubby and his agent, I expect Tubby to be fired within a couple of hours of the final buzzer tomorrow. Not a moment too soon either.

Yep. This relationship was doomed from the start. He’s an under-recruit and “coach em up” kinda coach. Except his “coach em up” style won’t ever get us back to being a perennial top 25 program. And you don’t pay a top 10 salary to this type of coach

I’m glad that our leadership/boosters are coming to their senses and admitting their mistake. Tubby will get a fat check to make him feel better.
