Tubby is the one demoting Lawson and hiring his own son and not Penny. Tubby is the one refusing to welcome home prodigal son Nick King and not Penny. Tubby is the one eschewing the AAU circuit and not Penny.

Poor Tubby is just a innocent bystander - indeed he is a victim of a nefarious plot to undermine him. Give me a freaking break.

I don't know why an agent would do that either, but those statements imho don't help Tubby at all. If the agent wasn't authorized to make those statements then let Tubby sue him if he wants.

I think there is some truth to what the agent says. As a UAB fan, I am thrilled that a quality player like Ryan Boyce signed with UAB, but I have to wonder why he chose a CUSA school when he could have gone to Memphis, an AAC school that desperately needs recruits. Normally, I suspect that Memphis would recruit a higher caliber player than Boyce, a good player but maybe the fourth best player on East's team, but Tubby isn't even getting the Ryan Boyce's of the world.. Penny was there at his press conference when he chose UAB. It would not suprise me that he directed Boyce away from Memphis
