RE: Navy women's team
Thanks.
It was a good game - Navy got into three(miss) and foul mode allowing American to expand the margin from the charity stripe.

Second year in a row losing the conference final at the 1-seed's court. Last year made the WNIT and got our first ever post-season win. Hope the ladies get a chance at the WNIT this year. Sad to see these seniors go.

IF Navy got 3-5 years of steady MBB/WBB success would they ever be worth a look at a full member add?

RE: Navy women's team
I'm curious to see what people say, but even sustained...the Patriot League is the Patriot League. Those 20 wins and third seed for the men won't even get near an NIT bid. And shouldn't. Bucknell gas perennially won the MBB in the Patriot, and is a 14 seed. They don't belong in the AAC.
Navy can compete in football with the large roster and the system offense, but basketball where one or two great recruits can make all the difference, we'll never be able to sustain. David Robinson was a once in a lifetime development.

Meanwhile Patriot League is a perfect fit for all sports for Navy (and Army).

The Patriot League has excellent wrestling and lacrosse.

Navy has five wrestlers going to NCAAs, with a sixth as first alternate and Lehigh manhandled us. Army had an unbelievable match to beat us.

Lax, both men's and women's are on the short list of sports I'd expect Navy to be perennially competitive in in the AAC. Are they even AAC sports?
Swimming and diving maybe.
Crew - AAC offers women's but not men's, right?
I'm guessing AAC doesn't have water polo.

Baseball is another example like MBB and WBB. We won the Patriot to go to NCAAs but I don't think we'd be competitive in AAC.

Navy’s athletic accomplishments are amazing especially considering their academic and physical rigors and small size (1,053 grads in May 2017 of which 252 were women).

Women's lax is, there has been some discussion of attempts by the men.

No wrestling though.

Basketball would be difficult but possible. Need a guard oriented offense and a great defensive coach. You're limited in some aspects true but Ivy league schools have competed well at the dance. It would take a particular kind of coach. I would get the best set shooters on the floor and run forty minutes of hell and just mass sub, try and wear teams down, score most of my points on turnover lay-ups and finding people open for 3s on transition. It's doable but would never be easy.

Baseball, I think the consistency of players developing for 4 years would be helpful. This is where I think you would struggle the most with full membership. In basketball I can't imagine you would be worse than ECU or USF.
