He runs a quick 8.23 seconds, worth 925 points. That's significantly better than at conference (8.34 --> 898 points).

As you can see, it's the pole vault that can make or break a competitor (the times/points) in the 1000 are too close. Duckworth should have such a huge lead going into the 1000 that he can just jog it.

Scott missed his first attempt at 4.26 meters (13' 11¾"). A baby height for him.

Two misses now. Just one more attempt to avoid the dreaded Rice no-height.

Patrick of Texas clears on his 3rd attempt.

And .... Scott no heights.

From All-American to last place. I have my opinion as to why this happened, but I'll keep it to myself. It's not on Scott.

Does it relate to the long list of previous big-meet no-heights by Rice vaulters?
