in every way this has been a homerun by those that I talked to at the tourney on Thursday.
If your team is running away with the game and the other going on is close at the end. You can watch both from the behind the basket stands
If a fan wants to stand 10 ft from the court at court level and watch. No one was asking you to take a seat. Very simple to go from game to game with a 20 second walk
This clowns are calling it small time but nothing I saw was small time. Well other than a few of the fanbases not supporting their team....Tech and ODU had 200 fans between them....125 to 75. Well they had a band.
Is it really that much harder getting to Dallas from Northfork than Huntington WV? Way to show out Marshall fans. I believe it would go Western, Marshall and Middle and maybe a 100 or so from top to bottom.
Like I said many times....you start seeing the same faces each year. Western, Middle and Marshall will show up if its played Cali.
This beat B;ham by miles in every way.....
we dont need a 14k arena, not a 12k nor, 8k this is the prefect size for all of our small time fans. Haven't had the chance t see it on TV but in person the setup looks great. Yes you can hear the band or other noises from the other court...muffled noise. Not once was it a problen
We had some really good games. Those S. Miss kids was not leaving that arena as a loser. As I said if you wanted to you could stand right by the end of the court. Those that went tp Hot Springs know what I;m talking about. So ypou get to see and hear the emotion in these kids.
I dont know if the attendance numbers are the same as b'ham or lower for these early round games. I know they look a lot better.
One last thing....those seats behind the basket are not to bad. A lot of people watched from there then moved down when their team played
I have zero complaints and heard none...Im sure someone didnt like it .
I’ve been to many ACC tourneys. I’ve been to multiple Big 10. I’ve been to CUSA, Big South, Southern Conf, MAC, Missouri Valley, and many NCAA Tournament sessions around the country. What is fun about these events are being able to sit with and watch fans and schools play. Having to pick and choose due to multiple games being played at the same time is ridiculous. Period.

If we continue going out west all the time it will destroy the conference. The SEC owns Nashville. We should own Louisville.
anywhere in that region is cool in my book.....
west is simply the wrong move for our fanbase relative to hoops....
that's the crux of the point, eh?
I simply chose Nashvile for the same reason.....
it really doesn't matter to me as long as it's somewhere around there....
If the conference stays together this will be where it start
RE: Dear Judy, Sorry, for those that just want to complain
I attended the whole tournament and the logistics are garbage. It's a high school setup with the two courts. The actual built in seats are useless since they're so far behind the basket. Then the temporary bleachers are terrible. One side is cheap folding chairs with such a gentle sloap you're too far away from the court. The8 other bleachers are uncomfortable wooden benches.
You're also paying to attend every game but you can only watch half the teams since the games are going on at the same time. Area outside the star is nice but that's about the only good thing.
RE: Dear Judy, Sorry, for those that just want to complain
I dont care where they move it as long as it is reasonable, I'd rather they keep the scheduling. It ensures that you won't have to choose between seeing your men's and women's teams.
Being in the same venue is also a positive, that is not to say the way it was set up can't be improved. A different bleacher set up could be tested.
RE: Dear Judy, Sorry, for those that just want to complain
So Guns, is that your preference? Or a home court advantage for higher seeds until the semis...at a location where fanscan go? Just asking... don't have an answer

LOL, no one owns Louisville except Louisville. And if not them, Kentucky owns it.

And I suppose the CIAA doesn't own Charlotte the week they are in town either? It is possible for a conference to go to a location and make it their home for a week because it fits their needs.

Stop bitching....there's always some excuse and it cant be any harder than it is for Marshall fans. Western has many many many of the fans....if it was here I would go
No they wouldn't...
Put the tournament somewhere drivable when we are a top 3 seed and we'll bring thousands. How many fans did Marshall bring for the early games? If it was over 500 then congratulations are in order. Thats a good turnout from that distance.
RE: Dear Judy, Sorry, for those that just want to complain
I'd say it'll stay in Texas for the foreseeable future. Isn't that where the HQ is located ? Keep it in the state right ? I believe the tourney needs to be centrally located. Nashville sounds pretty good for everyone. Atlanta maybe. But I have no way to trek all the way to Texas. Doesn't look good the tourney looks like a HS state championship with out fans. It's almost confusing.

Not sure if Bristol has anything. Roanoke has a decent arena.

Not really. We have the Burgland Center, but that is just a general purpose arena and the seats are far away from the court when they put the basketball court in it.

Salem would probably be better. They are hosting the Div III Final Four this year and have hosted several lower Div NCAA events. Of course there's nothing to see there except the mountains but it is convenient off I81 and fairly centrally located. There'd be nowhere for the ladies though. I'd only endorse this for purely selfish reasons.
RE: Dear Judy, Sorry, for those that just want to complain
This tournament location and setup was so bad that Charlotte threw the entire season just to not attend. You guys didn't think we were that bad because of talent and coaching did you?

This is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard. If you think Judy is a good commissioner then you might be the dumbest idiot on the planet.
