Sean "State Budget" Frazier. That's how he'll be remembered...using the budget situation as an excuse for minor league failures like running a MAC ticket office

I've never had problems with the ticket office...what are the issues?
PS...been a season ticket holder for several years now

There's been dozens, probably hundreds, of issues mentioned on this board over the last several years. Personally I've only dealt with it once, but that's because I never need to call. I just had a situation where nobody was answering during normal business hours. That's the most common complaint but it extends beyond that.

That's pretty much been the thought for each of the last 3-4 seasons. He should be gone unless they get into the NCAA tournament. IMO keeping him around is just stunting the program for another year.

Also, on the STF comments...it's not just about this terrible basketball program. If getting alcohol into the stadiums and Schedulepalooza are what you're getting excited about then sure, STF is amazing. What else has he accomplished in the last 5 years? Any new buildings or major upgrades in the works? Any great publicity coming NIU's way? How are attendance figures and customer/fan satisfaction? Is the athletic department handling crucial, but simple things, like a ticket office properly? Are they transparent and engaging with their supporters?

The last 5 years haven't been great economically for Illinois or niu. Enrollment is way down and the state is in financial crisis. Those are not STF's fault. Losing employees will only make the ticket office worse. I don't blame him for the problems we are in.
As far as basketball, let's wait and see how this plays out before jumping to conclusions.

Quit connecting the state's financial woes to what hasn't been happening on the basketball court. Basketball players are not being short-changed pre-game meals, practice and game gear, air fare often in place of a bus, and so on.
The ticket office IS under his control. Perhaps you don't want to blame him for the problems, but then blame him for not creating solutions here instead of picking a fight with UCF and pushing a G5 play-off that didn't have support.
You say as far as basketball, let's wait and see......it's been seven years, what are waiting for? Good God the standard argument was give somebody a chance to have their own players, i.e., five seasons. You keep using the phrase don't jump to conclusions in multiple threads, you still don't see the forest for the trees? Players other than from deep off the bench leaving every year, never getting more than single digit wins in a conference that isn't exactly respected for basketball, unable to get above .500 despite mediocre home scheduling, etc. State financial woes are not an excuse for all the things armour248 questioned.
With or without German and others, how much of an uphill remains to get NIU from the MAC West cellar to even the MAC tourney semis? Yes, you save the buyout money but you lose that many more fans, tickets, concessions, etc., to delay a rebuilding process that is now a necessity. You're throwing more money down a deeper hole. What's the business expression about cutting your losses?

Men's basketball averages 800 in attendance per game. Let's not act like that comes close to covering any significant costs the athletic department faces.

Excuse me but Frazier has been busy pushing the NIU agenda forward! Some of you are acting like he has a pot of gold and is choosing not to spend it at NIU. Or that he’s the only one that has a say about the Basketball coach or program or how much money there is or isn’t
S.Frazier NIU-UW Career Highlights.pdf

Much done and much more to come, sorry if it can’t all happen overnight but there are some serious restraints being put on the Athletic Dept. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to conclude that!

Sad but true but this board acts like we are owed better. $$$ talks and this program is losing it in spades.

NIU Basketball&Athletics/Clearing The Air
It only took a couple days for the "STF and Monty are gods!" posts to start showing up. About what I expected.

Chill. They aren't "gods", but the certainly aren't heathens either.

I only said wait and see about the transfers. Jump to conclusions refers to all these comments speculating on reasons for people leaving. I am not defending anyone just urge caution before poising the rest of the fan base. As was mentioned, average attendance is only 800. I mentioned ticket office because finance impacts personnel. Without being able to afford enough quality staff, what do you think the service level will be? I've also said in multiple threads that i support everyone's right to an opinion but wish everyone supported the student athletes as well. This stuff gets old. I've even seen another post of someone hoping for a player to get inured. We don't need "fans" like that in my opinion.

Unfortunately, some only see it as a place to ***** about what is wrong. I personally appreciate yours, and others more rational posts.

This isn’t the resume of someone doing nothing our not trying to move the NIU agenda forward. I have had many conversations with him and they’ve mostly been me complaining about something or suggesting how to improve something. I’m not a big time donor but I’m telling you the guy will listen and talk shop all day to anyone that wants success for NIU. Some of these posts I’m taking very personal because I know they are unfounded and just mis informed. I know it’s tough at times being a fan of a school of NIU’s caliber, finances and resources but without a doubt I and many others know where Frazier stands when it comes to pushing the NIU agenda and brand forward. I ask that yes we hold people accountable but for gods sake can we stop bringing our Huskie family down from within! We have enough issues against us as it is. I know everything isn’t roses but a better day is right around the corner, thanks!

Call me an STF apologist but I just don't believe a different AD would do any better with the cards STF was dealt.

RE: NIU Basketball&Athletics/Clearing The Air
That NIU is able to do the cost of attendance for the athletes is pretty big. Selling alcohol is a major improvement. Our teams are flying to so many more games is huge upgrade. We generated money with that day or week of giving event. Plan for the state budget deficit? NIU did a damn good job of that! By the way even when there was a state budget it’s not like that meant NIU was flush with cash.

I deleted my post because the people that are defending STF aren't going to change their minds. I find it absurd that people don't have an issue with our ridiculous athletic failures, embarrassments and general lack of positive stories. I hope it improves but I'll expect more of the same.

Bruh, you are negative af. What do you know about managing a DI athletic department? Nothing. Have you worked within an intercollegiate athletic department? Doubtful. Have you even worked in higher education? Likely not.

I've seen you on Twitter with same attitude too. Try being a little more positive, people might respond to you better. Furthermore, you're founding a business! Why are you boolin' on a fan message board?
