Especially against a team like SMU that has absolutely nothing to lose and has everything to gain. Find a way to get it done. Good teams do that when they aren't clicking on all cylinders.

Second, Evans and Cumberland low points production? No problem. Other guys stepped up:

Washington 15 PTS/7 REB
Clark 12/11
Broome 13/3
Scott 7/3
Brooks 6/1
Jenifer 6/1

Third, the continued improved, consistent play from both Broome and Scott is like a shot in the arm. You can't ask for a better time for these two guys to step up their games. Broome is playing with so much more confidence overall and brings energy on DEE. It appears the light has gone to the "on" position for Scott. He is clearly not the same player from earlier in the season. Love it.

Fourth, remember Mick wanted to use this tournament to get some bench players more playing time. I have a feeling that those minutes will reduce overall as they advance (hopefully) to Sunday.

Brooks too. With 14 mins left in the 2nd half, Brooks/Scott/Broome subbed in with us down 38-34. Brooks/Scott left the game 4 minutes later with us up 40-42 (and Brooks/Scott scored all 8 of those points). During that stretch we had 4 offensive rebounds.

That's quality bench play.

I agree that Mick was trying to give our bench more minutes. Though Mick was not happy with the play of Williams/Moore.

Scott and Brooks played really well on D and O. Both had 3 FGs also.

Mick said it best - Something he learned from Coach Huggins. Sometimes you have to figure out a way to win when you can't shoot.

RE: SMU Game Thread
Very happy with the win. Definitely did not have our A game.

They're playing better lately but I'm still always confused when both bigs are subbed at the same time throughout a game. I like Brooks and Scott but we are not nearly the same with both on the floor at the same time in my opinion. All of a sudden there is a lot of pressure on the other 3 guys to score... Nitpicky, I know.

Unbelievable season & can't wait to see where this ride takes us.

How do you "glance" at an 18 page thread?

How are you still on 10 posts per page limits? That sounds brutal.

that's what i do apparently. i kinda like it
