The thing working in kaspars favor is last year was easily the best season of those last 21. I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.

the mavs did not take care of business this year like many thought they would. with two really good players in neal and hervey and a cpl. of 7 footers I thought they would be better than last year but they have struggled shooting the ball and have been out muscled at times. a couple of games they looked like they werent interested..

really depends. GS shooters are so streaky. you never have any idea how the game against GS will be.

I don't necessarily want him gone . . . I do have concerns about his "Coaching Style" with today's players.

Often, (particularly on Offense) our guys look like they're playing tight (or scared), afraid of making a mistake.

IF that's the case, I hope that Kaspar can change. After 5 seasons at TXST, he has a sub .500 record. . . . I understand that (the last few seasons) he hasn't necessarily had the offensive weapons he'd like . . . then again, perhaps some of our offensive woes go back to him and his philosophy/style.

RE: Quarterfinals discussion
My big concern with Kaspar is that he either:
A. Only recruits a certain type of player (defensive minded, good kid, hard worker) to the point that it limits our recruiting pool to a size too small to be competitive at this level, or
B. Our style of play turns off too many potential recruits.

What he's trying to do at TXST was very successful at the "low-major" level in the Southland but I'm not sure it can work in the Sun Belt. The games we get beat badly in (today) we just get out-talented. Kaspars style can work if we have the athletes but he has to be able to get them to San Marcos first. And if he either won't recruit a large proportion of them or they don't want to play his style then something has to give for us to be a good sun belt program.

GSU beats Troy by 22pts....considering how much Troy has given us trouble this year, it was pretty satisfying.

What should they have gotten? Third? Second? I think we earned the No. 2 pretty solidly behind a pretty dominant ULL, even though we decided to pack it in for four or five games in the second half of the conference season...it's not like the talent is tilted in UTA's favor. I guess they could be more talented overall than GS, but GS has talent too with a guy who could win a conference POTY award before he's done and can light it up when they're on. This seems about right to me.

Can’t explain losses to Coastal, App, Little Rock and ULM either.

90% of the so-called "good" Sun Belt teams end up having multiple inexplicable losses. The trick is minimizing them.

I want to congratulate ESPN on their camera work. The camera's are focused on the floor and with few exceptions show the attendance. When they do and if it was a little slower, one could count the folks there. Not including the bands and the cheerleaders, it appears their would be less than 300 in the arena. The only good thing about that is King Karl has to sit there and watch that mess.

We just learned that we're going to be without our best (really only) front-court guy for the tournament. &*%$.

Louisiana har a decent showing in the first game today. Would think it should be even better tomorrow from them. But yeah, aside from the Cajuns this tournament doesn't draw any fans. I attended the championship game last year and it was pretty empty.

. . . and that's why I'm suggesting that the change may have to start with him. I think he came to TXST and attempted to remake it in the image of what's worked for him in the past (the low major level, as you put it). . . . and I don't blame him for sticking (at least initially) to what's worked for him in the past. But at this point, I think he may have to come to the realization that it may be time for him to do something differently. 04-cheers
