I'm not defending the idea that Pastner=Hardaway because I think that's ridiculous, but Pastner at different points did have guys on his staff with EXTENSIVE COACHING EXPERIENCE.

Penny is about our only option. He has managed his leaks very well. The way it is going down stinks. Tubby is a good and honorable man and coach, but he does not fit in at Memphis.

Just like Pastner was and is a good person. Just not the right coach for us.

First, anyone who wouldn't take Pastner back over this idiot Orlando is a retard. Four straight NCAA tournaments, Top 10 recruiting classes, and fielding a team that is competitive vs Top 25 teams was enjoyable. Orlando ball sucks and is played by sucky players against sucky teams.

Second, any coach Memphis hires is a gamble. Greg Marshall, Roy Williams, and Tom Crean ain't walking through our door.

Third, somehow we hired a, according to most, not me, a future Hall of Fame coach with a National Championship, 9 Sweet 16s, etc. who was a "safe" hire. All he did was destroy the program in 18 months.

Why not give the job to someone who can instantly bring Top 50 talent, actually knows what the HC position at Memphis means, and who has enthusiasm about actually being the coach?
