seems too good to be true that we have 2 coaches get paid to leave vs paying the buy out

Nice rocking chair type environment. He can sit on the front porch and play with the grandkids. Lots and lots of great golfing opportunities as well. Attendance would be similar.

Unlike Pastner Tubby has basically already been fired. So he is going to take our full buyout then get another check elsewhere.

High Point is a weird place. They only give out 1 year contracts to their coaches or at least used to.

Cherry was there 9 years and had an overall winning record. Tubby could at least do that.

He may or may not have an offset. But it wouldn't make much difference for the High Point job. What are they going to pay him, $200k? I mean it helps, but it's not going to change the settlement really.

But it would seem to be a nice option for Tubby and the High Point. And maybe help feelings with the people who hired him here.

I don’t think he will Coach again..I bet he agreed on a negotiated buyout just like Andy Kennedy did and probably for about half of the remaining contract.. I doubt Tubby was or is real happy here and he is probably fed up and tired of Coaching!! JMO
